Hidden Gems: Meet Amanda Sirianni of Gymboree Play & Music, Nona

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Sirianni

Hi Amanda, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
As a newly postpartum mom in 2019 I found Gymboree Play & Music classes and attended with my infant son. It was the best part of our week and I cherished our special time together. Gymboree was a safe and comfortable space where I could see and support his development week over week, while also building a community of my own with other moms in the same life stage. I had been driving over 30minutes each way to get to classes and really wanted to bring this to my local community. After much consideration, preparation and planning, in March 2021, our dream became a reality and we opened Gymboree Play & Music, Nona in the Lake Nona area. My husband and I have lived in the Lake Nona area for over 10 years, and are proud to call this area home. We’ve been open nearly 3 years and we continue to learn and grow every single day.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Small business ownership is tough! Along our journey, we’ve met so many incredible other small business owners and I don’t think any of them would say it’s been a smooth journey. There’s always new problems to solve, unexpected bumps in the road and work never turns off. The most important lesson we’ve learned is to surround yourself with great people. We are grateful and blessed to have an incredible team of teachers and staff at Gymboree Nona and we couldn’t do this without them! They are passionate about what they do and show up each and every day with a positive spirit, eager and ready to engage and support our Gymboree families.

As you know, we’re big fans of Gymboree Play & Music, Nona . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Gymboree Play and Music offers classes for children 0-5years that are uniquely and intentionally designed for early childhood development. Our teachers support you and your child as you spend uninterrupted time together, creating a safe space to play, explore and learn. Play is a fundamental component of early childhood education, and is the cornerstone of every one of our programs. Through play-based learning, your child is challenged physically, cognitively and socially. Our custom curriculum is based on the most current early education ideology, and is designed to grow with your child, from birth to kindergarten. The classes are 45-minutes, the parent attends alongside their child, and the class is full of opportunities to play, explore and learn. What also makes our program unique is that our classes are based on milestones (rather than age) so that we can meet children right where they are.

And we offer birthday parties! We specialize in 1st-4th birthdays, creating the perfect, intimate event to celebrate your little one. Our teachers led age-appropriate activities to keep children engaged and your private includes private use of our facility for just you and your guests.

What’s next?
In March we’ll be celebrating our 3 year anniversary and our future plans are to continue to celebrate more anniversaries for years to come! We also hope to continue to collaborate with other local businesses and providers that are serving families with young children. We’ve found that to be such a benefit to our families to be able to share information with them on other services and providers in the area that they may not have been familiar with or known were available.
