Today we’d like to introduce you to Anne Valdes.
Hi Anne, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Dr. Valdes was born in Miami, FL and always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. She graduated at the top of her high school class and went on to graduate in 2003 from the University of Florida. Having received two degrees (Animal Science & Zoology), she then proceeded to graduate Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007.
Dr. Valdes practiced for over 16 years in South Florida, and after moving to Central Florida has been serving the local area for the last 2 years. She opened Purrfect Paws & Claws Veterinary Hospital in May 2025 to serve the Leesburg area.
Dr. Valdes met her husband Chad in high school, and they married in 2007. They have two children and two cats. In her free time, she enjoys reading, movies, playing with her cats, spending time with friends, and engaging in crafts like counted cross-stitch and scrapbooking.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Dr. Valdes has a deep love for her field and its patients. After spending time in various corporate practices, she decided that none were quite what she was looking for and so decided to open up her own hospital to practice in a way better suited for her and her patients. The main difference is philosophy. Dr. Valdes wishes to focus on quality interactions with patients versus the quantity model that so many practices have converted to over the years.
Opening up a new hospital from the ground up has proven to be a challenge, but Dr. Valdes and her team met and overcame the initial hurdles and have now been open and going strong since May 2025 and hope to serve her clients for many years to come.

Purrfect Paws & Claws Veterinary Hospital works hard to achieve top level care blended with genuine warmth and care for our clients. We maintain a small-town culture with big city expertise.
