Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandi Bowers.
Hi Brandi, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
“I started my career in healthcare when I was just 18 years old as a Certified Nursing Assistant. From the very beginning, I knew caring for people was my purpose, and I moved quickly through the profession. I became a Licensed Practical Nurse and within six months was promoted into a supervising role. After several years, I advanced through a bridge program and earned my Associate of Science in Nursing, which allowed me to begin working within our local hospital system.
For the past twelve years, I’ve been affiliated with one of the major trauma centers here in Ocala. During that time, I’ve held a wide range of roles throughout the hospital — from emergency department nurse, to cardiovascular intermediate care unit manager, to house nursing supervisor overseeing the entire hospital, and later as an outpatient cardiac cath lab RN. While working in these leadership and clinical roles, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then continued on to complete my Master’s in Leadership and Management.
During the final stretch of my master’s program, I was working in the trauma/stroke emergency department when COVID hit. Overnight, everything changed. I made the decision to sell my home here in Ocala — where I was born and raised — and travel as a crisis nurse. My first assignment was at Santa Clara Valley Hospital in San Jose, California, one of the true epicenters of the pandemic. Throughout the rest of 2020, I continued traveling to multiple severely impacted areas, including El Paso and Laredo, Texas, all while completing my online coursework for my Family Nurse Practitioner degree.
I attended Nova Southeastern University’s Clearwater hybrid program, which offered exceptional instructors and flexibility. I graduated with my Family Nurse Practitioner degree in May 2021 and began my first NP role as a hospitalist, rounding across all three hospitals in Ocala.
In August 2022, I reached out to a longtime friend who owned a cosmetic center in Celebration, Florida. He had been in aesthetics for ten years, and something inside me knew it was time for a new direction — one that shifted me away from the hospital setting where I spent years in trauma and crisis care, toward a field centered on confidence, restoration, and empowerment. I became certified in Botox and fillers and trained closely alongside him as my first medical director.
About a year later, I took a leap of faith and opened my own aesthetics practice. What started as a small, single-room studio called Created Aesthetics eventually evolved into Balanced Body Wellness & Aesthetics. I began by building my clientele from the ground up, and after six to eight months, the opportunity arose to move into my medical director’s building, where I could create a full, dedicated wellness and aesthetic space.
Over the past three years, I’ve also completed extensive advanced trainings across the country. I’ve trained with some of Florida’s top doctors and leading nurse practitioner injectors, attended multiple national aesthetic conferences, and participated in ongoing hands-on courses to stay at the forefront of the industry. Continuing education is incredibly important to me — it ensures that I’m always bringing my clients the most up-to-date techniques, the safest approaches, and the highest quality outcomes.
Today, Balanced Body Wellness & Aesthetics has grown into a comprehensive medical wellness center offering a full spectrum of services. We provide luxury facials, Botox, dermal fillers, biostimulators, microneedling, advanced regenerative skincare, and an entire laser suite that includes laser hair removal, tattoo removal, and erbium laser resurfacing. We are also a certified hormone optimization clinic and medical weight-loss center, offering customized treatment plans that support internal health, metabolism, and longevity.
Our team has expanded to include two additional nurse practitioners, a medical assistant, an office manager, and two licensed aestheticians — one of whom is laser-certified and performs advanced laser treatments. We also employ a licensed massage therapist, which allows us to complete the full wellness experience by offering therapeutic and restorative bodywork.
At Balanced Body Wellness & Aesthetics, we take pride not only in our advanced services but also in the atmosphere we’ve created. We are a true luxury medical spa, but one that feels warm, welcoming, and completely down-to-earth. You never need to walk in with a full face of makeup or feel like you have a million dollars in your pocket to belong here. Our goal is to create a comfortable, uplifting environment where every person feels like family the moment they step through our doors. We combine high-end treatments with genuine human connection, making confidence and self-care accessible to everyone.
I absolutely love what I do. After years spent in hospital medicine witnessing trauma, stress, and crisis, stepping into a field where I can help men and women feel confident, rejuvenated, and genuinely cared for has been the most fulfilling chapter of my career.”
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like any new business owner, I’ve had my share of struggles along the way. In the beginning, there’s a constant fear of the unknown — the ‘what ifs’ that live in the back of your mind. You want to keep pushing forward and growing your business, but at the same time you don’t want to get so far ahead of yourself that you put your family or your employees at risk. Balancing ambition with financial responsibility is its own kind of tightrope.
Another challenge has been learning how to separate business and friendship — and friendship and business. When you care about people and you’re trying to build something meaningful, those lines can blur quickly. I’ve learned that clear boundaries, communication, and professionalism are essential to protecting both relationships and the business. These obstacles have shaped me, taught me, and ultimately made me a stronger leader and provider.”
As you know, we’re big fans of Balanced Body Wellness and Aesthetics . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
“In my practice, we offer a full spectrum of wellness and aesthetic services designed to treat the whole person. Our services include Botox, dermal fillers, Sculptra and other biostimulators, microneedling, peptide therapy, vitamin therapy, IV therapy, and comprehensive hormone replacement therapy. As a certified Biote hormone specialist, I provide pellet therapy, injectables, prescription creams, and oral medications — all tailored to help clients feel their very best from the inside out.
I’m also known throughout Ocala for my signature lip injections, which have become one of my most requested treatments. Enhancing lips is truly one of my passions — there’s nothing like watching a woman jump up, grab the mirror, and instantly glow with excitement. When she’s taking selfies before she even leaves my office, that moment reminds me exactly why I love what I do. Lips can transform the entire face, and I take pride in creating natural, balanced results that complement each client’s features.
At Balanced Body Wellness & Aesthetics, we combine high-end treatments with a warm, down-to-earth atmosphere. We’re a luxury medical spa, but one where you never have to feel like you need to look a certain way or have a million dollars in your pocket to belong. You can walk in as you are — no makeup, no pressure, no judgment — and you’ll always be treated like family. Our goal is for every client to feel relaxed, have a laugh, and enjoy a welcoming environment from the moment they walk through our doors.
One of the biggest things that sets my practice apart is my exceptional communication and the personal connection I build with clients. I’m very quick to answer questions, check in post-treatment, and provide support. Many of my clients even have my personal number because I want them to know they have real access to me — not just during their appointment, but before and after as well. That level of trust, transparency, and closeness is something I value deeply.
Overall, my mission is simple: to help people feel confident, beautiful, healthy, and supported — inside and out.”
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success for me isn’t defined by certifications, titles, awards, or what we can put on a résumé. Those things are wonderful, but they’re not what truly matter. Success, to me, is walking out of my building each day knowing that every client who came in left feeling genuinely cared for — feeling more confident, more beautiful, and better about themselves from the inside out.
It means knowing that the work we do has ripple effects far beyond the treatment room. When clients tell me their relationships have improved, their marriages feel stronger, or they finally feel seen and confident again, that is success. When my staff feels proud to come to work, supported in their roles, able to take home a good paycheck, and empowered to continue their education and pursue their own goals, that is success too.
It’s also being able to go home to my own family with pride, knowing I’ve poured my heart into something meaningful. Sharing my story so I can inspire others to chase their dreams — especially women who want more for themselves — that is what fulfillment looks like for me.
To me, success is simple: it’s making a positive impact on the lives of the people who walk through my doors and the team who stands beside me.”
