Hi Brandon, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Moving to Orlando from New York City, leaving the rough Castle Hill area of the Bronx where I’ve witnessed a lot of gun violence, I decided to obtain my private security licenses here in the State Of Florida with the intent to help protect people and/or provide a safer environment for any establishments that normally have trouble with customers on any level. Soon after training with Eddie’s Security Training Academy, I acquired my D & G security licenses, which allow me to provide a private security service here in Florida. Several weeks later, I began working for a few small security companies that weren’t so good at paying their employees. After four years of troubles with different companies and hiring lawyers to put demand letters together to collect my pay, I decided to obtain a B license to open my own security company. . In January of 2019, I opened Strategic Protection Group LLC. Seven months after opening, I came across some business troubles with contracts and my business insurance, which forced me to close. I personally feel like I was slightly ahead of my time and needed to learn a little more about the business end of the security industry and not just the officer’s end. One month later, a friend of mine introduced me to a man named Jeffery Wynn, owner of Elite Protective Services based out of Orlando also. Shortly after contacting Mr. Wynn in regards to employment with his company, he scheduled a meeting with me. During this meeting, we discussed what my intentions/goals were getting into the security industry… As the meeting went on, we bounced different business ideas off of each other, only realizing we had similar goals we wanted to accomplish.
I informed Jeffery that I had several pending contracts with clients that owned multiple locations that were reaching out to me requesting armed security service. Mr. Wynn and I came to a business agreement. He hired me on the spot soon after we secured all of the pending contracts that I had while also accomplishing Mr. Wynn’s goal of expanding Elite Protective Services to different counties across the State Of Florida. Some of which are Kissimmee, Longwood, Deland, Tampa, Daytona, Melbourne, and Cocoa beach. I worked over 70 hours a week for over six months showing a strong work ethic while using social media as a huge online marketing tool, which helped me bring in over 14 contracts. I am now one of the head operational managers with Elite Protective Services. Our mission is to Exceed Any Expectations you may have for a Security Team that you can count on to keep you safe as well as any environment or establishment we are contracted to secure. In November of 2020, I joined the NRA and became an NRA Certified Basic Pistol Shooting Instructor. Now not only do we provide security, but we also provide training for concealed weapons licenses and basic gun safety courses. . Due to all the hard footwork and networking, the name “Elite Protective Services LLC” is growing rapidly in the security industry throughout the state of Florida.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The road was not smooth at all. It came with a lot of long nights and early mornings. Relationship and Family issues are due to sacrificing time with my children and loved ones to work contracts or attend last-minute business meetings at random times throughout the day.

Elite Protective Services LLC provides armed as well as unarmed security services. We also provide marked and unmarked vehicle patrols through apartment complexes, mall plazas, club establishments, or vacation homes. Elite Protective Services has a 3.5 million dollar insurance policy that allows us to obtain all types of contracts, whether they be private or government-controlled.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
What’s worked for me is networking and meeting with different owners and operational managers who are knowledgeable in this industry and pick their brains for ideas and different methods of negotiating available contracts and where to look for them.
