Today we’d like to introduce you to Breana Nardi.
Hi Breana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Back in 2017 me and my now husband started working for a towing company in New York. We worked there for years, through the pandemic as essential workers, and I really developed a passion for helping others in need when they had car troubles. I worked in New York until 2022 before making my move to Florida. My original business out of New York was based in Long Island where we assisted the Nassau County Police Department with towing services for accidents that occurred and worked with major insurance companies to provide roadside assistance to those covered. On a daily basis we come across all types of car troubles, and we provide quality services such as local/long distance towing, lockouts, jump starts, tire changes, accident recovery and even battery delivery/installation. When moving to Florida I chose to come to Orlando due to its closeness to a major airport, and the volume of people visiting/traveling through the area. We assist a majority of the major car rental companies with towing services, so being near an airport is crucial for delivery of broken down rental vehicles. Since moving to Orlando, I have seen so much life in the community, amazing opportunities and a chance to be a part of a great city. I think a lot of people just reference Orlando with Disney and Universal, but there is so much more in this city that can be explored and enjoyed.
I now operate out of the Boggy Creek area of Orlando, and assist customers on a daily basis with towing needs. We operate three trucks 24/7 and are always available to help.
I strongly enjoy being a woman owned towing company in an industry that is predominantly men. It gives me a unique perspective on the level of care and customer service provided. It is my utmost goal for Ghost Auto Works that we can be a company customers can rely on, and use any time they have trouble, but hopefully not that often!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, for starters moving across the East Coast was not easy. I had an established running company in New York, and essentially started over completely from scratch. The bills did not stop because I moved, so it was crucial that I got us up and running in Orlando as soon as possible. Another struggle was after spending over 5 years working accordingly with the laws and departments in New York I had to relearn procedure and requirements for the City of Orlando, and the State of Florida. Some legalities were similar, but the procedure to start a towing company here is completely different. Like most companies rising costs for insurance, rental properties, vehicles and fuel is affecting a lot of fleet based services.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Ghost Auto Works LLC is a towing company offering roadside assistance services, local/long distance towing, basic road services such as lockouts, jumpstarts, tire changes and we can assist with battery installation and accident recovery services. We can tow any types of vehicles and are often called for boat trailers, RV/Campers, equipment and motorcycles in addition to cars and trucks. There is no job we cannot figure out and assist with. Through our many years of experience working in the towing industry we have seen so many difference scenarios, and assisted with all types of towing jobs both simple and complex. What I tell everyone is no one is truly an expert because a new type of situation could arise at any moment. When vehicles crash, and break down no two instances are the same so we are every growing and learning and experiencing different situations. That is why we keep up to date with training on new vehicles made, and make sure we are always as knowledgeable as possible for anything we face out on the roads.
My primary role within my business pretty much consists of everything but driving the truck on a day-to-day basis. I handle contract negotiations, dispatching, marketing, billing, payroll, insurance, as you can imagine the list goes on and on. I consider myself a very experienced and knowledgeable individual when it comes to administrative work, and having all the components in place for the company to run. The drivers need to come in to work, and they need to have a steady day of work. Everything I do makes that fall into place, so we are constantly working from each shift.
I am most proud of the ideas and involvement I have for our part in our community. I want to be remembered as a company for the community. I am not here for any reasons other than wanting to be someone to rely on, provide quality services and build lasting relationships with other businesses and community members. It is very important to me to get involved, and show up for our community when needed.
We are a company that works hard to accommodate all of our customers, and offer services that will help to the best of our ability. When customers calls us, we will see exactly what is going on, and go offer a plan and options. We always strive to find a solution that fits with the customers goals, and we can offer service at any time or day, and we stay open all major holidays because accidents and breakdowns do not have a day off!
How do you define success?
Success to me is stability and a genuine sense of happiness. When you can pay your bills, live comfortably, do good and honest work and wake up each day happy to be doing what you do that is pure success in my opinion.
