Hidden Gems: Meet Bryana King of Lovely Boards

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryana King

Hi Bryana, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The thought of starting my business came in December while I was home on maternity leave. I was new to Florida and I was looking for a hobby to keep me busy. I came across a masterclass charcuterie group on facebook and was inspired by all of the work being posted. I decided to give it a try and became obsessed with making cheeseboards. I would often post my work on my personal facebook page and one day someone messaged me to buy one. I excitedly went to Trader Joe’s to purchase my ingredients and that was the start of Lovely Boards.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some of the struggles I’ve faced is self-doubt. When I look at my work I know it’s good but it’s discouraging when I don’t get orders. For example, for Valentine’s Day I created a board and when I posted it, it had over 1,000 likes but I didn’t sell one board. I just have to remind myself that if I give up now, I will never know what this can turn into.

As you know, we’re big fans of Lovely Boards. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Lovely Boards specializes in handcrafted charcuterie boards for every occasion, delivered right to your door. We create grazing tables for weddings, social, and corporate events. We also offer private workshops, whether it’s for girls night or company team building.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is to just do it. When starting out many people don’t have the answers but if you keep working hard eventually you will succeed.
