Today we’d like to introduce you to Chenille Rose.
Hi Chenille, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started Thee Boss Besties in 2019, pretty much on accident! At the time, I was feeling really unmotivated in my business and I was looking for new inspiration and motivation; so I made a status on Facebook asking if there were any women that wanted to get together for brunch. To my surprise, there were A LOT of women that wanted to! Brunch became something we all looked forward to each month! We talked about everything under the sun! I mean business, relationships, motherhood, goals and everything else! That was our way of staying connected, networking and building accountability in each other. Now I have a group of phenomenal women that I am fortunate enough to call my Boss Besties! At this time, I’m currently focusing on building brands specifically with hair companies.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Nothing worth having in life is ever easy. There has been a lot of procrastination, feeling unmotivated, lack of focus and overthinking at times. It took a while for me to actually see Thee Boss Besties as a business and not just something I was doing on the side. My besties will always bring me back to reality. When I think about the fact that there are women that are watching what I do and how I do it, that focus comes right back; and I remember what I need to do and who I’m doing it for.
We’ve been impressed with Thee Boss Besties, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Thee Boss Besties started as a networking group that grew into a coaching business. I quickly realized that the knowledge and expertise that I gained from having a hair company was something that a lot of women did not have. I received so many questions about social media marketing, email marketing and other things related. I knew at this point, I needed to find ways to relay this information. I turned monthly brunches into a coaching opportunity and now I cater to hair companies that are just starting out and need guidance.
I started my hair company My Lavish Mane in 2014 and grew it from the ground up. I managed to make five figures not once but multiple times. There are coaches that promise to help businesses reach six figures but most people cannot even get to 4 or 5 figures. I want to keep expectations at a more realistic number; especially for businesses that have barely made any money or are just starting out. Let’s get you to 5 figures first and then we’ll look at those 6 figure numbers.
I am very passionate about helping others and I do believe that this is my purpose in life.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
At times, I have severe imposter syndrome and I “fake it ’til I make it”. I am human and I do doubt myself and my abilities at times. A lot of my besties see my confidence and believe that it always comes easy. That’s just not true! I get nervous and I overthink about a lot of things. Sometimes it takes me 2x longer to finish a task because I let my thoughts consume me; but I always get the task done, no matter how long it might take me.
