Hi Christin; we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi Everyone! My name is Christin Marsh. I am the owner of the travel agency called Escape to Recharge. Before starting my business, I worked as a Registered Nurse for nine years. After experiencing many twelve-hour shifts, I was ready for a change. I wanted to do something fun and different while still having the ability to help others. So, remembering the four things I am interested in: Love, Food, New Experiences, and Travel, I decided to open my travel business in January 2020.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it has been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
My journey in this business has been smoother than I expected, but the Covid lockdown did affect my business. With the Covid lockdown taking place, traveling came to a halt. People were not allowed or able to travel, thus affecting the growth of my clientele. However, instead of shutting down my business, I decided to hone my skills and focus on specializing in my niche; love and romance.

Most clients have busy lives due to work, school, and raising a family. With busy lives, they are usually too preoccupied to plan their trips. Thus, this is where I come in. As a travel advisor, my goal is to become your cane, where you rely on me to research, plan, and book various components required to make your trip successful.
While booking all-inclusive resorts are my favorite, I can also assist with booking flights, cruises, car rentals, excursions/tours, and travel insurance. I even create vacation packages for clients that prefer paying low deposits and setting up a payment plan. Through effective communication with my clients, I create experiences that suit their wants and needs.
What was you like growing up?
I grew up in the U.S. Virgin Islands with a family of seven, and out of the bunch, I was the most reserved child. However, I was active in my community because I understood the importance of helping others. I enjoyed volunteering to feed the homeless and participating in fundraising events. For example, one of the fundraisers I participated in was the kayak-a-thon which happened once a year in the U.S Virgin Islands. When I was not helping others, I loved hiking and spending time at the beach. Being in nature has always had a calming effect on me.

- The research fee for flights & hotel packages start off at $50. To keep the research fee as cost effective as possible, clients need to provide specific travel dates, 1 travel destination, and 1 airport for departure.
