Hi Christine, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a longtime resident of SW Orlando (Dr Phillips). Love the excitement, offerings and energy our city has to offer. It all began in 2011. A friend of mine asked if I could wear my Halloween costume to her daughter’s birthday party, be a princess, and interact with the children after a disappointing experience she had with a birthday entertainment company. Having a community theater and theme park background sounded fun and something I could pull off. I realized I enjoyed it so much, and the children’s reaction was priceless, so it could be an opportunity to open a business. At the time, few local companies were offering character visits. I started with only 3 characters (since I wanted to do 3 well with quality costumes and wigs), but now we offer 90 and have a staff of professional performers and stilt walkers, face painters, balloon twisters, and more! Not only do we perform at children’s parties, but we also visit group homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals. It is gratifying to bring fairytale magic to children of all ages.
Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
The greatest challenge was Covid. We stopped doing visits. I feared we would have to shut down as we had no income. But we survived by doing Zoom calls for birthdays, special occasions, drive-by visits, and parades. The cast loved still being able to bring joy to children, and our clients were grateful to have a way to get some magic to their homebound celebrations.
As you know, we’re big fans of Ever After Character Events. What can you tell our readers who might need to be more familiar with the brand?
We are locally owned and operated and have served the Orlando area for 13 years. We have a cast of over 70 performers. We specialize in character visits, birthdays, and corporate events. We are known for having the most authentic character performers in the area and our 5-star rating. All our performers are professional entertainers who are very well-versed in their characters and storylines.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
That we are more than characters. We also offer professional stilt walkers, mimes, clowns, magicians, and more! Most of our staff have extensive theater and theme park backgrounds.
