Today we’d like to introduce you to Danica Hargett.
Hi Danica, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I moved to Orlando in 2016 after graduating high school at Vero Beach High a semester early. I started college at Valencia College here in Orlando. I graduated with my associate’s degree in business in 2019, now pursuing my bachelor in business management. I’ve been doing nails since 2017 here in Orlando and decided to push myself to my full potential, opening a nail salon “Queen’s Studio” for myself and my team of wonderful entrepreneurs. Here at Queen’s Studio, we offer luxury nail service, deluxe pedicures, lash extensions, as well as clothing boutique for men, women, & children.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
During the time of pushing myself to find a permanent salon location while working at someone else’s shop, I was going to school full time at Valencia as well as a dog mom taking care of my two fur babies, Cash and Queen. My dad had been struggling with memory issues and started to go downhill quickly, I lost my father in February 2021. Back in Orlando the next month one of my best friends Jessie Valdes was shot & killed before even going through my dads funeral. Pushing on to keep my dreams going with all this emotional trauma going on in my life. In June, three days after my birthday I got a call that my salon location is ready! Blessings continue to come with rain. The first week of renovations my sister’s mother passed away causing more commotion and distractions. I had to keep pushing no matter what. I started renovations on my salon June 8, 2021 and completed as well as was approved by the city by July, 12th 2021. Without my angels watching over me during this time, none of it would have been possible. Your dreams can always be accomplished no matter the trials you go through to get to them.
We’ve been impressed with Queen’s Studio, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Queen’s Studio was opened to give me and my friends as well as entrepreneurs a safe and comfortable workspace. We strive to offer a different environment from your typical salon space and bring you into a peaceful and beautiful space. Our three amazing nail techs @deenailqueen @arimarinails @esha_kiltit specialize in nail art, long nails, Swarovski crystals and deluxe pedicures. We have an individual lash specialist @mikaekobeauty here to satisfy your beautiful lash needs. We also have a clothing boutique @miamirichlife selling men’s, women and children luxury streetwear.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
We are stirring the pot to get a shop YouTube channel out, so be on the lookout!
