Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Tineo.
Hi Daniela, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always had a passion for baking, ever since I was a little kid. I grew up in the kitchen because my father is a chef and my aunt is a self-taught baker. At first it was a hobby, I never thought about taking it more serious, but all the family and friends that tried my desserts kept insisting that I had to start making something out of it because I have the talent and the passion, so that’s when I decided to open up my Instagram account but it wasn’t until May 2020 that everything changed for me. I lost my job due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was really hard at first (still is but not as much), but I decided that I had to do something for myself, I had to try my best. I started to take my hobby to the next level and make it a business. Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity of meeting amazing people that have supported me with their orders, their kind messages and also recommending me, I have been able to form a small but mighty community that have led me to where I am today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, not at all. I am a self-taught baker so I’ve had many bumps along the way, from rookie mistakes to critics from people I don’t know or even myself. I have doubted myself so much, I’ve struggled economically because having your own business is never easy, and when I started it wasn’t easy getting people to know me and try my desserts. I’ve cried a lot also because of how stressful it can be sometimes. The most important thing and what I feel that keeps me going is to always remember my mission and the reason why I am doing this, and also to remember that I am not alone, a lot of businesses go through the same things I go through, and I am also blessed with a great support system.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I have a lot of people I should give credit for all I have and all I am today. My father, for inspiring me and showing me how to show people how much they mean to you through food and also being the best helper, always there for me when I need him. To my mom and grandma, because they always showed me that we woman can do it all. To my sister for always pushing me, helping me with my branding and photography and for always listening to my long list of ideas. To my friend Fabiana for always being there for me, even in the distance, for anything I need her for. And last but not least, to my dear husband, for being a shoulder to cry on, for being my supporter, my motivator and for giving me tough love because he believes that I can always be better. I love them all for picking me up when I can’t and believing in me even when I don’t.
