Today we’d like to introduce you to Darcelle Burandt.
Hi Darcelle , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
From Discouragement to Hope: The Birth of Sozo Wellness Center
For many years, I felt deeply discouraged watching the way our current medical model operated. It seemed more like a “sickness model” than a true wellness model—focused on managing symptoms rather than restoring health. For over 25 years, I’ve been passionate about holistic modalities and prayed that God would open the door for me to create a place where people could experience healing the way our Creator designed it.
That prayer was answered when I met a naturopathic doctor with 35 years of experience who, due to his own health challenges, was selling his practice. The timing was perfect, and one door after another began to open. Every piece of equipment and therapy I had envisioned—a hyperbaric chamber, shockwave for pain management, advanced red light and pulsed magnetic light therapy, BrainTap, and the TheraWellness frequency machine—came together seamlessly.
At Sozo Wellness Center, we understand that our bodies are electrical systems, intricately designed by God to heal themselves when restored to balance. True wellness comes not from adding more medications, but from removing toxins, addressing root causes, and bringing the body back to its original God-given design.
My background as a Christian counselor for 20 years shapes everything we do here. The name Sozo is a biblical word meaning “to save, heal, and make whole.” We believe every physical symptom begins at a spiritual, emotional, mental, or energetic level. If we can identify and address those underlying issues early, they often never develop into physical problems—making healing faster, simpler, and more complete.
Sozo Wellness Center exists to bring people back to wholeness—body, mind, and spirit—by working in harmony with the way God created us to heal.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Opening any new business comes with its share of challenges, especially in the first year. For us, the biggest challenge hasn’t been the logistics—it’s been the re-education process. Many people have been conditioned for decades by the pharmaceutical model to believe that health is about adding something for symptom relief. At Sozo, our approach is completely different.
We focus on getting to the root of the problem—identifying and removing the factors that are causing the symptoms in the first place. When you address the root, the symptoms often resolve naturally, without the need for ongoing external crutches. Helping people unlearn old patterns and embrace this concept is both the greatest challenge and one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
About Sozo Wellness Center
Sozo Wellness Center is an advanced integrative health and wellness facility dedicated to helping people heal at the root—physically, emotionally, spiritually, and energetically. We specialize in combining cutting-edge technologies with holistic principles to restore the body’s God-given ability to heal itself.
Our center offers a range of powerful modalities, including Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Shockwave Therapy for pain management, advanced Red Light and Pulsed Magnetic Light Therapy, BrainTap neuro-entrainment, and the TheraWellness frequency system. These tools are designed to help remove toxins, improve circulation, stimulate cellular repair, and bring the body back into balance.
What sets us apart is our whole-person approach. The name Sozo is a biblical word meaning “to save, heal, and make whole.” We believe that every physical symptom begins first at a spiritual, emotional, mental, or energetic level. By identifying and addressing these underlying causes early, we often prevent symptoms from developing—or resolve them more efficiently when they do.
With over 20 years of experience as a Christian counselor, I integrate emotional and spiritual healing into the process, recognizing that true wellness must address every layer of a person’s being. Our mission is to help people experience freedom from what’s holding them back, whether that’s pain, chronic illness, stress, or emotional burdens.
At Sozo Wellness Center, we don’t just mask symptoms—we educate, equip, and empower our clients to live in the fullness of health God intended.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5 to 10 years, I believe we’re going to see a complete shift away from the current “sickness management” model. The idea of throwing a medication at every symptom—only to create more side effects, more medications, and more sickness—is breaking down. People are waking up to the reality that this approach does not lead to wellness.
I envision a future where true health care focuses on prevention, root-cause healing, and supporting the body’s God-designed ability to restore itself. We already have everything we need built within us, along with powerful tools from nature to help facilitate healing—yet these have been largely omitted from mainstream care. Why? Because natural products cannot be patented, so they rarely make it into FDA-backed studies.
The challenge now is re-education. For decades, the public has been bombarded by commercials, advertisements, and marketing campaigns designed to indoctrinate the mind into believing that pharmaceuticals are the only solution. This has been one of the most successful psy-ops in history—but it is beginning to unravel.
As more people experience the power of integrative and holistic therapies firsthand, they are becoming less interested in masking symptoms and more interested in removing the causes of illness. In the future, I see wellness centers like ours becoming the standard, not the alternative—a place where people go first, not last, to reclaim their health and live in the wholeness they were designed for.
