Today we’d like to introduce you to David Gibbons.
Hi David, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! My name is David and I grew up here in Central Florida. I’ve always been interested in tech, even from a young age. So much so, that when working as a Real estate agent I helped a lot of people out with their computers. One day I was asked if I take photos because an agent had a listing coming up that they needed photos for. I replied that I didn’t, but the question did intrigue me.
Several days later, I was helping a different agent out in the office and they posed the same question to me, “Do you take photos?”. This time my reply was a little different, I replied that I did not, but maybe I should start. To me, the same question asked twice in the same week by two different people meant that God was trying to nudge me in a direction so I went with it.
I purchased my first camera (outside of using my cell phone) and dove deep into the world of architectural and real estate photography. The next week I had my first paid job with a real estate agent and they loved the photos! To me, that was confirmation that I should continue down this path.
Here I am 3 years later and photography has become my full-time career.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Probably the biggest struggle was gaining new agents as clients. Even though I graduated with a degree in Business, what they didn’t teach was the relationship aspect of the business. That was something that I had to learn along the way.
I would argue that that is probably the most important part of the business and in life… the relationship.

David Allen Productions gains its name from my first and middle name. I grew up in Florida and my family calls me by my middle name. So, when someone refers to the company, it’s a reminder to treat everyone as if they were family.
In the past, I was a soldier in the military and a Disney cast member. Those two things have contributed to what sets us apart from others. From the attention to detail to the customer service that is received, you would be hard-pressed to find another company with the same background.

What makes you happy?
Being able to spend time with my family makes me happy. Being able to watch my two girls grow up and spend time with my beautiful wife brings me a lot of joy.
