Hidden Gems: Meet Debbielee Griffin of Preeminent Candles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Debbielee Griffin.

Hi Debbielee, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have always loved candles, from the ambiance of the flickering light to the scent permeating through the room. I decided to make my own candles and found it very therapeutic. After giving out candles to my family and friends and receiving positive feedback, my husband Richard encouraged me to start a business. Together we created Preeminent Candles. In addition to making traditional jar candles and pillar candles, I found my niche creating drink and dessert-style candles. Our candles are made from all-natural soy, and our whipped body butters are also made with all-natural ingredients.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Covid created some struggles limiting our pop-up events for a few months. We also had to deal with product supply shortages. We had to get creative to overcome supply shortages by utilizing in-state companies and making our own vessels.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Preeminent Candles?
We make hand-poured soy candles, wax melts, dessert-style candles, pillars, and whipped body butter. We specialize in drink and dessert-style candles. We also make in memoriam pillar candles. Preeminent Candles is a Christian-based business. Our Word Collection candles serve as a testimony to our core values and beliefs. We offer wholesale options and custom candles from birthdays to weddings and other celebratory occasions.

What’s next?
We plan to get our candles onto the shelves of more local businesses throughout Central Florida. We look forward to attending more events throughout the state to make our brand known and engage with more candle lovers.
