Today we’d like to introduce you to Deborah Charron Charron.
Hi Deborah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am originally from London in the UK. I moved over to Florida in 2006 with my young boys. Having parents that were hard-working and successful, my mother as one of the top astrologers in the UK and my father singer/songwriter, it taught me that working for yourself has its freedom if you worked hard, it is very rewarding and gratifying, you are your own boss and are accountable to yourself. I knew this is what I wanted for myself. Before moving to Florida, I was a beauty therapist for 20 years, the last 5 years I had my own business, it was very stress-free and very therapeutic, not just for my clients but for my soul. This sense of calm and understanding of clients’ needs I have transferred over to my real estate business, working through problems and reassuring my client’s needs through the home buying process. It took a while getting myself established here in Florida, working through a nasty divorce, and dealing with immigration. None of which I would have accomplished without my now-husband, those were some very tough times however, we did it and now here I am!
I have been working with real estate since 2015 and discovered a new passion in helping people whether it be buying a home of their dreams; Selling a home and moving on to a new chapter in life: Starting a successful investment business: Buying the first home, or selling a home to get out of a difficult situation. All equally important to my client and satisfying for myself. It is not about real estate for me but helping people with their life stories.
No 2 days are the same, meeting different people and seeing a wide variety of homes is a lot of fun and although many of the luxury homes are stunning, what takes my breath away is a lake home or a home with beautiful land, a sense of freedom and calming of spirit. To watch the calm waters and sunsets calm my mind and listening to nature, taking in its beauty, frees my spirit. Which I guess comes from my holistic career.
It has always been important to keep myself current with the real estate market with continuing education and professionalism, as we cannot control the market but, as a real estate professional, I can advise and educate my clients so they know what to expect during the process and have confidence in me, as their realtor. After all, the hard work starts once you are under contract and getting to the closing table, especially in the present market! Determination and hard work have been my key to success I believe, not taking it for granted, and feel very blessed to have had the support behind me. I would not be here if it had not been for my family, friends, and Keller Williams.
Keller Williams Realty has taught me everything I know with the best education; we have such a good team and support system. I have been lucky indeed.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The hardest part of the journey for me was taking the emotion out of real estate and still being empathetic. The ups and downs in a transaction is a challenge however, taking the emotion out has made it easier, especially when dealing with a market of today! With a clearer head, I can guide my client better and listen to their needs. It is not about me but them.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Keller Williams Realty at the Lakes?
When it comes to supporting its workforce, Keller Williams is known for its education, technology, culture, and support. The company also puts its money where its mouth is: as it uses a profit-sharing model, wherein approximately half of its operating profits at market centers are shared with associates. This makes company growth a natural extension of individual, team, and office success. I certainly would not have reached my success without them behind me.
I specialize in selling residential homes in and around the Orlando/Disney and surrounding areas, whether it be a luxury homes or a small starter/retirement homes. Being close to Disney has a high demand for Short Term Rentals, needless to say, investment homes are high in demand whether buying or selling. However, Lake/Water Front Homes are my favorite homes to sell, there is something very serene and good for the soul when you look out across that water, not to mention observing reactions of others when they see the view. I guess this goes back to my days being involved in the holistic lifestyle. I enjoy selling the variety of homes as this keeps my passion ignited giving me the ability to help educate and guide my clients in their next lifestyle chapter, with their needs at the utmost importance.
What sets me apart? I have been told that what sets me apart is the fact I keep it real. Building the relationships and educating my clients so they are well prepared with the present housing market and guiding them all the way to the closing table. Communication and customer service is very important, we all expect it but so few people receive it these days. It does not take much to respect one another, be patient and understand others’ feelings and wishes. Yes, it can be exhausting but that is what we are there for, to serve. Lastly, I believe my English accent and sense of humor has helped, as so many comments on how much they love it!!!
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Buying and selling a home is very stressful and I am there to relieve some of that stress by educating and keeping my clients updated. Answering my clients’ questions to my best ability and being honest relieves a lot of stress. However, I do like to make the process as fun and interesting as possible, as people will always remember how you made them feel. None of this could be accomplished without Keller William’s education and technology behind me. I am also very fortunate to have a strong professional team behind me including Oliver Title Law, my preferred lenders including
Seth Bleakley with Cross Country and my transaction coordinator, Amy Owens.
