Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Astrid Luzunaris
Hi Dr. Astrid, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Moonflower Chiropractic started as a dream rooted in my passion for holistic healing and my desire to serve families and individuals seeking a deeper connection to their well-being. My journey began in high school, during a “future career project,” when I first became interested in health and wellness through my experiences as an athlete. Even though I didn’t fully understand how the body works at the time, I knew chiropractic care helped me in some way. That curiosity grew into a passion for helping others, and I realized I wanted to work in a field where I could make a real difference in people’s lives.
Growing up, I wasn’t always taught how to listen to my body or take care of it in a way that supports long-term health. Instead, like many, I saw people seeking quick fixes or blaming health conditions on age or genetics. We often focus on temporary solutions while ignoring the signals our bodies send such as aches, emotions, and thoughts. Over time, I’ve learned that true healing comes from within, through changing habits, thoughts, and routines, along with chiropractic care, to help the body take care of itself. I want to help people realize the power their body holds because it’s our home.
Throughout time, I’ve learned that the way we show up in life is a reflection of our choices, and we have the power to make better ones that positively impact our bodies and overall well-being. As I trusted my journey, I moved forward to study this beautiful profession and became fascinated by how everything is connected and how the body can heal itself with the right support.
One of the key things that helped shape my perspective on healing was my experience with mission trips. Being able to serve communities in need opened my eyes to how universal the need for holistic care truly is. These trips allowed me to see firsthand the importance of connecting with others and offering support in ways that go beyond just fixing a problem. It’s about empowering people to trust their bodies and their own healing process, no matter where they come from or what their circumstances are. After years of studying and training, I became Dr. Luzunaris, and my vision of serving the community came to life through Moonflower Chiropractic. Today, my practice operates in Winter Park, Florida, offering both in-office and concierge services to meet the needs of families in the surrounding areas. Whether it’s supporting pregnant and postpartum mothers, nurturing newborns and children, or helping families achieve their health goals.
My goal is to create a safe space where families and individuals feel supported, reconnect with themselves, and live with more ease every day. This journey has been one of continuous learning and growth not just for me, but for the families and individuals I am honored to serve.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to where I am today hasn’t been smooth, especially since being in the early stages of building my practice. Progress has felt slow at times, and there have been moments when I’ve questioned if I was on the right path. Building trust with potential members takes time, and it’s a challenge to establish yourself when you’re just starting and don’t yet have a steady flow of people coming in.
On a personal level, balancing the demands of starting a business while taking care of my own health hasn’t been easy either. It’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and forget to prioritize yourself, but I’ve learned to set boundaries and make self-care a priority so I can show up fully for the people I want to serve.
Even with the struggles, every challenge has been an opportunity to grow. I’ve realized that patience, persistence, and creating real connections are key. Each conversation and small step forward builds the foundation for something bigger. It’s not always easy, but I’m so grateful for the lessons I’ve learned along the way, and I’m excited for what’s ahead as I continue to grow and serve my community.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Moonflower Chiropractic?

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t really think it’s about luck. To me, it’s all about the effort, intention, and consistency you put in. Every step I’ve taken, whether it’s been easy or challenging, is because I’ve kept showing up, working hard, and staying committed to what I want. And yes, there have definitely been moments of doubt and worry; I’m not perfect, and I’m not any different from anyone else. That’s why it’s so important to remind yourself about what your why is or your purpose for taking the steps to achieve what you want.
For example, finding the right community at Moonrise Birth Collective has been such a blessing. It honestly feels like I was meant to be there, but I know that’s because I put the intention into finding a space that really aligned with my values and goals.
But, to be honest, I don’t think success is about just waiting for luck to happen. It’s about the effort you put in every day, even when things feel slow or uncertain. And a big part of that is having the right people around you. Whether it’s friends, mentors, or colleagues, they help keep you accountable and remind you why you started this journey in the first place.
And honestly, I think luck is just about perspective. All the struggles or tough times I’ve had may seem like bad luck and what they really are just part of a learning process. They’re lessons that you can either grow from or let them hold you back. And those tough moments have taught me to stay persistent and be adaptable when things don’t go as planned.
Something I’ve learned along the way is that where you focus your energy is where things start to shift. If you focus on the struggle or what’s going wrong, that’s what you’ll get more of. But if you focus your attention on solutions, growth, and what you can control, you’ll see opportunities and possibilities open up.
So, luck might play a part here and there, but I truly believe it’s mostly about showing up, staying consistent, trusting the process, and having the right people around you to keep you grounded. When you’re putting in the effort and focusing your energy in the right places, those “lucky” moments start to happen more often.
