Today we’d like to introduce you to Eryn Vargo.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My entrepreneur journey started in 2013 when I resigned from my position as the director of marketing from Panera Bread. Having children and being a very present mom makes having a traditional career difficult. I decided to become an entrepreneur because I’m extremely innovative and creative and really good at problem-solving when it comes to marketing and advertising and I wanted to take that to the masses.
I started as a marketing consultant helping businesses weave social responsibility into the fabric of their business… Over the years that expanded to website development and program implementation. During Covid, I was able to work with one of my clients on a longer and deeper basis.
Then the opportunity to purchase Orlando Mom came up and I couldn’t resist. As a writer and being on the team from the very beginning in 2013, I knew this was my calling. The rest is history! We’ve been full throttle since 2021 bringing resources and community building to moms in Central Florida with the “Eryn twist” and spin on things!
Giving back to the community and serving female entrepreneurs is very important to me and I am passionate about making a difference for these women and for our Central Florida community…We’ve grown our team, tripled our events and our revenue! It’s been the most exhilarating journey and I can’t wait for what’s next as we expand our Prosper & Flourish Women in Business program, launch our podcast- Prosper & Flourish and broaden our reach in Florida!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
If it’s a smooth road, then you’re not doing something right…
Obstacles and challenges are what make life and business interesting! You also get to learn through these obstacles and challenges.
Being the new boss is always a challenge. People don’t always like change and some have a hard time adjusting.
Starting something from scratch that you’ve never done before is always a challenge because you don’t know if the ROI is there. Investing in your business and spending money that you don’t know you will get back is always a challenge but a necessary evil when running a business. It’s not smooth and obstacle free, however all of these challenges make me a better leader, better mom, better business owner, a better entrepreneur, and an overall better human.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was a bit of a tomboy. I loved to play outside, I loved to play baseball, and I was very artsy. I learned how to sew very young, and I became obsessed with it for years!
As the oldest daughter and granddaughter, there is a strong personality trait of taking care of people that seemed to be ingrained in my personality. I was a very curious and fun, loving kid… But also a “mother hen” to my younger siblings. Very overprotective and very cautious.
My teenage years I was a little wild and definitely wish I could change those years… but I do think they have forged me into the strong woman that I am today.
I was always very bright, loved to learn and very much marched to the beat of my own drum.
