Hi Gabriel , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
They say necessity is the mother of invention, so when the founder of Fresh-N-Healthy couldn’t find anything “Fresh & Healthy” in a convenient fashion what did he do? Invent the health food market! Well not quite. Founder of Fresh-n-Healthy Meals simply took what he had learned working through college in the hospitality industry and made it convenient to get fresh healthy food delivered right to the customer’s door. He didn’t invent the wheel, he just made the wheel tastier and convenient! The 26-year-old Florida Atlantic University graduate learned just how important proper nutrition was during his time as an NFL intern. Nothing like seeing how the best athletes in the world fuel their bodies. He can tell you first hand these pros didn’t use Big Macs and super-sized Cokes to keep those big contracts! Eat J-U-N-K and the NFL stands for Not-For-Long! Starting one of the first Healthy Food Delivery services in Orlando in 2015, 10 years later, Fresh-n-Healthy has semented themselves as a staple of healthy eating in Central Florida
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Haha absolutely not has been easy. I started this company homeless living out of my car with no money in my pocket. I started a groupon sale and would use the proceeds to stay at an airbnb for the night where I would make the meal prep meals for delivery. On off days, I lived out my car to save money. Eventually after 3 months and hard work, not only was I able to afford a place to live but eventually got into a commercial kitchen…the rest is history. In 2021 I sold the business but due to default payments the company was given back to me with 80% of my clients lost…..round 2, I built the company back to its glory days. We haven’t looked back since
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Fresh-n-Healthy Meals is a meal prep delivery service. We shop, cook, clean and deliver Meals so all you have to do is “Heat-n-Eat”. We offer fully customizable plans with a weekly rotating menu. Our meals are all made from scratch from pasta, to sauces to marinades & more! We are proud to serve Orlando for 10+ years and we owe it to our clients who has been with us since. What sets us apart from the competition beside our quality ingredients, is our large menu selections, tech savy website and our customer service. We offer catering and private chef services in addition to our home delivered meals.
What makes you happy?
Employing people. Because I know how hard it was to find a job and the affects it takes on someone mentally if they don’t, I make sure to hire everyone and anyone I can. We have employees who been with us 5+ years because of the culture I set for my employees, without them I wouldn’t be where I am today. This is why for tenure employees, they receive profit share of the business.
