Today we’d like to introduce you to Ginette Henriquez.
Hi Ginette, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Ginette, I moved to Florida from Boston in March of 2009. Being a new stylist in the area and only 25 years old it was very hard finding a salon that I can fit in. I live in winter springs and my first job was in Kissimmee. I soon found out that it was not a good move and that whatever clients I make will not be following me if I relocate closer to home. I had to start over again after a year of working in Kissimmee and got a job close to home at Haircuts express.
I was making less money but was working with a good team and building a well-established clientele. After working at Haircuts express in Longwood, FL for 2 years I moved on to another salon where I had the ability to make more clients and increase my income. I worked at New Look Latino in winter springs for 3 years till the owner sold the hair salon and I was forced to move on. At this point, I was left with no work till I learned about Salon suites.
I rented a suite in Phenix salon suite Oviedo and from there on I have been able to be my own boss and was able to gain new clients after losing so many because of the moving around so much. It was hard keeping up with having my own business plus taking care of 5 kids but I did it after 7 years of being self-employed and being off work for almost 2 years because of Covid. I now own my own hair Salon in Winter Springs, FL, G Hair Affair. It’s a dream come true!!
Every day I thank God for being so gracious with me. I have a wonderful community around me and wonderful clients that have been by my side through it all. I know that I have so much more work ahead in making my business a successful one but I truly consider myself blessed and wouldn’t have it any other way. Doing hair is my passion!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a mother of 5. Not finding the right Salon to work in. Covid-19 hit. Had to get 3 unexpected surgeries to do to help problems. Lost half of my clients.

My business is a Barbershop/hair salon. It was established in September 2021. I specialize in all hair types and offer a variety of services. Blow-out, haircuts, color, highlights, balayage, ombre, keratin treatment, hair botox treatment, steam treatments, relaxers, perms, and more.
I’m mostly known for being a colorist and giving an amazing blow dry. What sets my salon apart from others is that I offer a good positive attitude and excellent customer service it’s my number one priority.
