Hidden Gems: Meet Jackie Millan of 6th Borough Homes at Keller Williams Advantage III Realty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jackie Millan.

Hi Jackie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My real estate journey began in 2013 with nothing more than a prayer. I asked God to guide me—to show me a way to create financial freedom for my family. I didn’t come from privilege. I came from survival. From humble beginnings. From experiences that include domestic violence, poverty, and addiction in my household. But those circumstances didn’t define me. They refined me.

I thank God every day that He led me to **Keller Williams**. Their values—**God, family, then business**—aligned with the faith I was holding onto. Through Keller Williams, I didn’t just learn how to sell real estate—I learned how to live a life by design. They taught me about building wealth, setting goals, creating impact, and the importance of living a life filled with purpose.

Because of that alignment and support, I’ve gone on to help over 175 families buy, sell, and invest in real estate. I own an Airbnb in Puerto Rico, flip properties, and recently launched a credit repair business to help others get financially ready for homeownership and freedom.

But my mission goes far beyond real estate. My purpose is to **show people like me**—those who grew up without a clear path—that we can make it. That we are worthy. That with faith, a plan, and the right guidance, anything is possible.

One of the greatest honors of my life was being given the opportunity—through Keller Williams—to travel to **Kenya, Africa**, where I taught over 200 high school students how to create a vision for their life and build a plan to achieve it. That trip showed me how big and beautiful the world is—and how many people are still waiting for someone to believe in them.

Beyond business, we pride ourselves on giving back. I serve as the Hispanic Liaison for Clarita’s House in Kissimmee, an organization focused on feeding the homeless and supporting those in need. I also volunteer with Ray Peeples Ministries and contribute time when possible with Hopkins Heroes, because serving the community is part of the legacy I want to build.

For me, it’s not just about success—it’s about significance. I want to grow, give, and guide others along the way. That’s the heart behind everything I do.

I will never stop paying forward what I’ve learned. I will continue to **inspire, teach, and walk alongside families** as they build not just wealth—but belief in themselves. Because no matter where you come from, **you are not broken—you are worthy.**

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in real estate is that **success starts with mindset**. For me, that meant unlearning a lot of what I was taught growing up.

I was raised in the inner city of Brooklyn, New York—where minding your business was a survival skill. In my community, you didn’t ask too many questions, you stayed in your lane, and you avoided drawing attention. Especially in a Puerto Rican household, questioning anything could earn you a quick slap in the mouth. So when I stepped into real estate, I had to completely rewire my way of thinking.

This business demands conversation, connection, and service. At first, that felt foreign. But every time I met a new client, something shifted. God gave me a servant’s heart—and when I stepped into that calling, the fear melted away. It was no longer about me—it became about *them*.

My biggest challenge wasn’t the market or the competition—it was *me*. The internal work. And I took it seriously. I attended **Tony Robbins’ “Unleash the Power Within”** and walked across fire—twice. I devoured books like *The One Thing*, *Rich Dad Poor Dad*, and *The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership* by John Maxwell. And I’m still learning, still growing, every single day.

This journey has taught me that your environment may shape you—but it doesn’t define you. Mindset does. And once I changed mine, everything else followed.

We’ve been impressed with 6th Borough Homes at Keller Williams Advantage III Realty, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I work with all types of families, but I specialize in two key groups: **first-time homebuyers** and **“move-up” buyers**—people selling their first home and moving into something new or relocating. I love guiding clients through that next big chapter. It takes strategy, patience, and clear communication—three things I bring to every transaction.

What truly sets me apart is my **commitment to communication and education**. I don’t believe in leaving clients in the dark. I walk them through every step so they understand the process, feel empowered, and gain confidence. Buying or selling a home should feel like a collaboration, not a mystery.

But beyond that, I genuinely **care**. My clients often become friends—they invite me to weddings, send me baby announcements, and call me to share life’s milestones. That’s the real reward: building lasting relationships rooted in trust and heart.

One of the things I’m most proud of is my **team**. I don’t do this alone. I work with my amazing buyer’s agent, **Jess Millan**—who also happens to be my oldest daughter—and our incredible admin, **Kathy Bosch**. Together, we’ve built a business that truly serves people. We’ve worked with families for over two years to help them repair credit, build savings, and finally qualify for a home. Most agents or lenders walk away if someone doesn’t qualify. We don’t. We stick with you until you’re ready—because we believe everyone deserves a shot at homeownership.

We don’t operate with “commission breath.” Our business is built on **faith, service, and people first**. When you lead with love and intention, the rest falls into place. Like they say, *build it and they will come*—and we’ve built something worth showing up for every day.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I’m a big believer in constant growth and learning. Some of my favorite podcasts include The Millionaire Real Estate Agent and Empire Building—both of which keep me sharp, focused, and aligned with big thinking. I also follow Brett Tanner’s “Be a Wealthy Agent” for wealth building strategies. When it comes to books, I’m a huge fan of The Millionaire Real Estate Agent (It’s the Real Estate Bible).

Every morning, I kick off my day on a powerful Zoom call with about 1,000 agents on James Shaw’s Pivot/Shift call—a free daily mastermind at jamesdshaw.com. It is the oil to my machine, always bringing new ideas and strategies for my business. That kind of energy, first thing in the morning, is much needed.
