Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasol Rodriguez
Hi Jasol, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story begins in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where I pursued a career in civil engineering. Although I loved my profession, I always felt drawn to creativity and entrepreneurship. This led me to start my own swimwear brand, Soles Swimwear, a reflection of my passion for style and the vibrant Caribbean lifestyle. The business began as a physical store, and it quickly became a space where women felt confident and empowered.
In 2021, my life took a major turn when I decided to emigrate to Orlando, Florida, with my family. Moving to a new country was a challenge, but it also opened doors to new possibilities. While continuing to run Soles Swimwear virtually, I decided to reinvent myself. I discovered a deep passion for working with children, which led me to pursue a career in education. I am now a Lead Teacher Assistant, helping young minds grow while I work on expanding my brand.
In the process of adapting to life in Orlando, I realized how much I had to learn about starting over as an immigrant. This inspired me to launch my podcast, Me fui y ahora qué?, where I share my experiences and interview other immigrants who have overcome similar challenges. I also rebranded my Instagram page to Soy Soles, a platform that integrates my love for swimwear, tips for new immigrants, and glimpses of my journey as a mother, teacher, and entrepreneur in the U.S.
My ultimate goal is to open a physical store for Soles Swimwear in Orlando, combining my Dominican roots with my experiences here to create a brand that resonates with women worldwide. My journey has been about embracing reinvention, staying true to my values, and inspiring others to dream big, even when starting over from scratch.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been anything but smooth, but every challenge has shaped the person I am today. Moving to a new country with two young daughters brought its own set of difficulties. One of the biggest struggles was taking care of my daughters, adapting to a new culture, and balancing my career as a teacher, it often felt like there weren’t enough hours in the day to dedicate to my personal projects. Building Soles Swimwear virtually while managing these responsibilities required a lot of patience and sacrifice.
The journey hasn’t been easy, but I’m grateful for every struggle because they’ve made the successes feel even more rewarding.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Soy Soless is more than just a business, it’s a reflection of my journey, passions, and dreams. It began with my swimwear brand, Soles Swimwear, which I launched in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Our focus is on creating stylish and high-quality swimwear that empowers women to feel confident and beautiful. When I emigrated to Orlando, the brand transitioned to a virtual store, and my vision expanded.
Today, Soy Soles represents a multifaceted platform that encompasses much more than swimwear. It’s a space where I share my story as an immigrant, offer practical tips for others navigating the same journey, and connect with my audience in meaningful ways. Through my podcast, Me fui y ahora qué?, I explore the realities of starting over in a new country, sharing personal experiences and featuring inspiring guests who have also rebuilt their lives from scratch.
What sets Soy Soles apart is its authenticity. It’s not just a brand—it’s a story of resilience, reinvention, and community. I’m proud of how it combines my Dominican roots with my new life in the United States, offering something unique and relatable to my audience. Whether it’s helping women feel empowered in a swimsuit or guiding an immigrant woman through her first steps in a new country, Soy Soles is about celebrating every stage of life’s journey.
What I want readers to know is that Soy Soles is for anyone who dares to dream big, whether they’re looking for swimwear that makes them feel amazing, seeking inspiration as an immigrant, or simply curious about what it’s like to reinvent yourself in a new country. It’s a brand built on passion, purpose, and a deep commitment to helping others thrive.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
