Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Rodriguez.
Hi Jason, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
After being laid off twice in 2025 from 2 corporate jobs due to lack of sales. I found myself unemployed once again and I decided that I needed to take advantage of everything I have learned throughout my professional career and start my own company. I stated Salute to Painting in August of 2025 with no experience other than my knowledge on how to grow and make companies profitable. It hasn’t been easy as there many other paint companies in Orlando but I have seen some significant gains in such a short time. I am ready to grow Salute to Painting and make it one of the top 5 painting companies in central Florida within the next 3 to 5 years.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No not at all I have encountered several challenges along the way. For example being a new company I needed to secure leads from somewhere. So I decided to use Angie’s Ads and started to get some leads coming in but most of theme were spam leads. I then decided to also use Thumbtack which was helpful but it cost a lot to get some quality leads. With not much revenue coming in I had to use personal credit cards to get started. Another challenge was the competition in the area. There are quite a bit of companies in Central Florida and most of them like to low ball customers to get their business and then add on once they have started the job. This isn’t ethical at all and something that’s hard to compete within when you run an honest company.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories is simply going to Puerto Rico over the summer and spending time with my cousins. Going up to the mountains and the rivers and spending all day out exploring the country side.
