Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazlyn Betancourt.
Hi Jazlyn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It’s actually pretty random and out-of-the-blue how I started. The travel industry was introduced to me from a family member during my senior year of high school when an idea was brought of them opening up a Travel Agency and me being a part of it if I wanted to. Flash forward, and none of it ever happened so I never thought about it again. Years passed and the only jobs I have ever done was Sales/Customer Service up until I had my first daughter. From there, I became a stay-at-home mom for two years until I decided to try and start working again, but this time at a Daycare. Daycare life was nice, don’t get me wrong, but after I found out I was pregnant again, I realized that life was not for me. Well one morning, I woke up and the idea of being a Travel Advisor came into my mind. I have never thought about the idea since my senior year of high school which was five years ago. I looked into it and of course I thought of other options, but that idea kept coming back into my head, so I took the chance and went with it, and I am so happy I did! I absolutely love what I do, I love that I can create something special for each individual and help clients with their dream vacations.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I can’t say it’s been an absolute smooth road. I’m still fairly new to Central Florida, so my main struggles have been finding potential clients and supporters in the area and locally. Also, being a stay-at-home mom while working from home isn’t the easiest thing to do, but it’s manageable as long as everything stays organized.
We’ve been impressed with Luxe Dreams Travel, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own Luxe Dreams Travel which is my own Travel Agency where I help all my clients create fun, bright, meaningful, and unforgettable memories during their travels that they will reflect on and carry with them for the rest of their lives. To be more specific, I curate custom and unique vacation packages and itineraries for all my unique travelers. I specialize in the Caribbean, Mexico, and U.S. destinations, and as far as types of travel, I like focusing on Romance/Honeymoons/Anniversaries, Family getaways, and Group Trips. I would say that what sets me apart from others is that when I create these packages for my clients, my main priorities are making sure that these vacations are allowing them to slow life down for them for just that time, forget about all their worries or struggles back home, invest in their relationships with their friends/families/spouse, etc. and come back refreshed with absolutely no regrets. This is also what I am most proud of brand-wise. It’s my brand, my business… So I know where my heart is at. It’s in Luxe Dreams Travel (and my family, of course!).
