Hidden Gems: Meet Jeff Kubes of National Designers LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Kubes.

Hi Jeff, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I first stepped into the design world through interior wall art, where my focus was on aesthetics and creative expression. It was a rewarding start, but over time I realized I wanted to do more than decorate walls, I wanted to create spaces that my customers love to call home. That realization pushed me to expand into kitchen and bath design, where I could create spaces that weren’t just visually appealing but also functional, welcoming, and deeply personal to the people who lived in them.

What began as an artistic pursuit evolved into a mission: helping customers feel truly at home. Today my work is about blending precision with warmth, designing spaces that reflect individuality while meeting the highest standards of craftsmanship and efficiency. The journey from wall art to full‑scale interior design taught me that beauty has the greatest impact when it’s paired with purpose, and that’s the philosophy I carry into every project.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has definitely had its bumps. Transitioning from wall art into full‑scale interior design meant stepping into a much more complex world of codes, materials, and client expectations. At first, I had to learn how to balance creativity with compliance, making sure every design wasn’t just beautiful but also functional, safe, and aligned with industry standards. That shift required a lot of late nights, research, and trial‑and‑error before I found the systems that worked.

Another challenge was building the business side of things. As a designer, it’s easy to focus only on the creative, but running a company meant mastering estimating, workflow optimization, and financial discipline. I had to refine processes to eliminate redundancy, protect privacy in filings, and keep everything audit‑ready. Those struggles taught me resilience and sharpened my commitment to clarity and efficiency. Looking back, the obstacles weren’t setbacks, they were the very experiences that shaped the way I operate today, with a focus on precision and client trust.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about National Designers LLC?

Whether it’s a residential project or a multifamily development, our goal is always the same: to deliver spaces that feel both personal and polished, backed by systems that make the process seamless.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories goes back to 3rd grade, when I participated in the school art show. I still remember the excitement of seeing my work displayed and realizing that creativity could connect with people in a meaningful way. That moment planted the seed for everything I’ve done, since it was the first time I truly understood that I wanted to be a creator.

Looking back, that experience was more than just a school event; it was a turning point. It gave me the confidence to pursue design as a lifelong path, and it taught me the joy of shaping ideas into something tangible. That early spark of inspiration has stayed with me, guiding me through each stage of my career and reminding me why I love creating spaces that feel personal and welcoming.
