Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Macias
Hi Jessica , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey into real estate was never something I planned, it just kind of happened. My husband, David, wanted to take the real estate course, and I figured, why not? I was seven months pregnant at the time, and the night after passing the course, my water broke. Our first born son was born at 32 weeks, and just like that, real estate got pushed to the back burner while we focused on our new reality and getting our son out of NICU and into a healthy place all while navigating parenthood.
Before jumping into real estate, I was in HR and prior to that i was a Makeup Artist. I loved working with people, making them feel their best, and building relationships. Without realizing it, I was learning skills that would later help me in real estate, conflict resolution and negotiation, branding, marketing, keeping up with trends and connecting with people.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all, My journey into real estate was never something I planned, it just kind of happened. My husband, David, suddenly wanted to take the real estate course, and I figured, why not? I was seven months pregnant at the time, and the night after passing the course, my water broke (I was 30 weeks). Our son was born at 32 weeks, and just like that, real estate got pushed to the back burner while we focused on our new reality.
Then COVID hit, and both David and I were furloughed. That’s when we had a moment of, *Okay, we don’t want an employer deciding our future anymore.* So we studied for the state exam, and after a few tries, we both passed. But just as we were ready to go all in, we got called back to work.
For a while, we juggled everything, full-time jobs and real estate on the side. Then, life threw us another curveball. Our son was diagnosed with autism, and he needed multiple therapies. I’d leave my 9-5 in HR at 5 PM, head straight to showings (while pregnant again!), and get home around 8 PM. When I was on maternity leave with my daughter, David suggested for me not to go back to my corporate job to focus on real estate while staying home with the kids. It was not an easy decision for me as I loved my job but my son and my new reality as a mom of 2, needed me to have the flexibility.
Meanwhile, David was grinding, working his 9-5 at Disney and running his painting business on his days off or after work. There were times he worked 14+ days straight just to make sure we could afford therapies and keep everything afloat. I was juggling real estate while bringing our daughter everywhere with me—trainings, showings, you name it. We didn’t have much family nearby, and I wasn’t ready for daycare and we just simply couldn’t afford it yet.
As she got older, I slowly started sending her to daycare a little at a time, and by the time she turned three, she was in preschool. By early 2024, David was completely burnt out from working so much. That’s when he finally set a date to quit his 9-5 and jump into real estate full-time. It was a huge adjustment (working with your spouse is a whole new dynamic lol!), but by the end of the year, we finally got into the swing of things, we still bump heads here and there though lol.
Looking back, it’s crazy to think about how we got here. From makeup artistry to HR to real estate, everything I’ve done has led me to this point. It hasn’t always been easy, but every challenge prepared us for this moment and we have always put God first. Now, David and I are all in, working together, we even have an investment property, we are passionate about wealth building through real estate and helping families navigate their own transitions all while building a future on our own terms.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Haus M?
For us, real estate is so much more than just buying and selling homes, it’s about building relationships, guiding people through major life transitions, and helping them create wealth through real estate.
One thing that really sets us apart is our Haus M Renovations program, We help sellers make key updates like fresh paint, minor repairs, or minor staging to maximize their home’s value. The best part? They can pay at closing instead of upfront. Selling a home is all about presentation, strategy, and negotiation, and we take that seriously.
Beyond that, we’re real estate strategists who believe in using real estate as a tool to build wealth. Whether it’s house hacking, investing, or legacy planning, we help our clients think beyond just their next move, we help them plan for their future.
Haus M isn’t just a business, it’s a brand built on faith, connection and vision. I love that we’ve been able to turn what we do into something bigger. Between social media, events and education.
But honestly, what I’m most proud of is seeing our clients win. Seeing families get into homes they never thought possible, sellers walk away with more money than they expected or relieved to move on to their next stage in life, and people make smart, strategic moves that set them up for the future.
We believe real estate is a path to generational wealth and want to help more people tap into that.
We also believe that you have to protect your largest asset and family. That is why this year we are educating on legacy planning and we are releasing a course to teach people how to build wealth and grow their business the way we have been able to.
At the end of the day, our goal is simple- to help as many people as possible achieve their goals by guiding them through life-changing real estate decisions, building wealth, and creating a future they love.
What makes you happy?
I love seeing my children happy and when we can serve the community and also have our kids be involved and see that. That is a gift! I love inspiring people, I enjoy teaching what i know and encouraging others to pursue their goals and dreams. I love surrounding myself with positive and collaborative people and people that want to grow and be better.
