Today we’d like to introduce you to Jhoanlis Manzano.
Hi Jhoanlis, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a young immigrant woman originally from Venezuela. I arrived in the United States in 2015 with my family, full of dreams and goals, starting completely from scratch after being forced to leave our country due to the political situation that deeply affected our stability and future.
When I arrived in this country, I did not speak English, which made the adaptation process especially difficult. I had to learn how to navigate a new culture, a new system, and an unfamiliar language while working to move forward. During that time, I worked in different areas, including kitchens, retail sales, and as a nanny. These experiences taught me discipline, resilience, and a strong work ethic.
Since childhood, I always knew that the world of beauty and personal care was my true passion. Aesthetics was always the path I wanted to follow. In Venezuela, I had the opportunity to work alongside the official esthetician of Miss Venezuela, Meché Velásquez, an experience that allowed me to understand firsthand the level of commitment, dedication, and professionalism this career requires, and further strengthened my love for the world of aesthetics.
After establishing myself in this country, in 2019 I made the decision to continue my professional education in Orlando and study aesthetics to obtain my Full Specialist license. Shortly after, the COVID-19 pandemic began, completely changing my reality. I went from having three jobs to just one, facing significant financial and personal challenges. Despite not fully mastering the English language, I remained committed to my studies and successfully graduated on June 16, 2022, with the unconditional support of my family.
After graduating, Jhoan’s Studio was born—my own business and the result of years of sacrifice, perseverance, and personal growth. Today, I am the owner of my own studio, where I offer aesthetic services such as facials, body waxing, manicures, and pedicures, always focused on enhancing the well-being and confidence of each client.
I strongly believe in continuous education and the importance of professional growth. For this reason, I am constantly training to offer high-quality treatments, updated techniques, and a personalized experience for every person who trusts my work.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. When I arrived in this country, I did not speak English, which made the adaptation process especially difficult. I had to learn how to navigate a new culture, a new system, and an unfamiliar language while working to move forward and give my best.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Jhoans Studio Full Specialist is an aesthetic studio focused on personalized beauty and skin care services. I specialize in facials, body waxing, manicures, and pedicures, always tailoring each treatment to meet the individual needs of every client.
What sets Jhoans Studio Full Specialist apart is the personalized attention, the commitment to continuous education, and the genuine care for each client’s well-being and confidence. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all treatments, but rather in customized experiences designed specifically for each person.
As a brand, I am most proud of creating a space where clients feel heard, cared for, and comfortable. My goal is to deliver high-quality results, provide a warm and professional service, and offer an experience that goes beyond aesthetics.
What does success mean to you?
For me, success is not measured only by money or material achievements. True success is being able to build something of my own from the ground up, staying true to my values and the principles my parents and family instilled in me, and continuing to grow both personally and professionally.
To me, family is the foundation of everything and, along with my faith in God, represents what is most important in my life. I consider success being able to make my parents and my entire family proud, as well as helping my clients feel confident, cared for, and satisfied with their results, knowing they trust my work. Success also means continuing to learn, evolve, and create a positive impact in people’s lives through what I do every day.
