Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathon Smith.
Hi Jonathon, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My partner and I worked in a metal shop together for over 12 years. We would always talk about one day starting our own shop. We made all the adequate steps, formed the LLC and made a business plan etc.. Everything was going good. all we needed was some capital and a building. So we stayed idle for over a year. Things got rough so I eventually quit there, and bounced around job to job, while he stayed and tried to make partner. The plan was for him to take control and hire me back as COO. But they would not sell. So we went back to the drawing board. We had to find an investor. Started with banks, realized quickly no bank would work with us. Then people, we asked everyone. friends, family, you name it.
Then one day i was on my way to yet another job and i got a call from my partner. He found us an investor. And we been working our Butts off ever since.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not a smooth road. The biggest struggle in the beginning was finding someone who would not only believe in us but also invest in us.

What are your plans for the future?
Employees are definitely in the future. Its a lot on just us two. I to build an “A-team”.
