Hi, Kaitlyn; having you on the platform is an honor. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I moved from Jersey to the Kissimmee area about three years ago and wanted to start fresh in every aspect of my life. I wanted to create a side hustle and eventually become my boss. The reality is that the majority of people rely on social media today. Some people use it for entertainment, communication, news, or reviews. Even for me personally, social media is super important when I book a new service or even hit a follow button. Old-school people love to do things by word of mouth, but the times are changing, and businesses must also change with them. I realized that the businesses in my community needed help to get clients or even make their presence known due to the lack of social media presence they held. That’s when my idea of Valerio Stitched Marketing came up, and I realized I could help my community while also helping my family. I started with family and friends who had businesses, and thankfully, they allowed me to develop my craft within their businesses. A good chunk of social media and running these pages was familiar to me, which made it so intriguing. Thankfully, I have become better at my craft today and continue learning new things daily. One of those things is getting my degree in business marketing from Valencia College. Even though I have mastered what I do, you can never stop being better than who you were yesterday. Today, I have many clients from central Florida and will continue to expand.
Let’s dig deeper into the story – has it been an easy path, and if not, what challenges have you overcome?
The process to get where I am today has been challenging. For one, I needed guidance on where to start, but with the help of my friends and family, I was able to build my portfolio. A lot of businesses do not value the importance of social media or don’t budget for it either. I had to learn to market my marketing company to businesses. Aside from the marketing I was doing for the different businesses in my community, I had to account for hours that I would spend educating my clients on why we do things the way we do. It has been a fulfilling experience, and I have truly enjoyed every step of the way. Reiterating the part of businesses not budgeting for marketing is crucial now. When I started my prices were at a beginners because I was still learning how to navigate this new normal but I would still have occurrences where companies would find it too “expensive” or “too much.” It wasn’t very encouraging when I would hear that because I knew I was giving them a deal compared to other prices in the area. I didn’t let that stop me or change my rates because the fact is that people will pay for what they want.
