Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Whitaker.
Hi Kelly, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a wife, mother of two grown children, and a licensed Realtor. My family and I moved to Orlando from Indiana 22 years ago. At the time, we thought we would be here for about three years with my husband’s business, and now we are true Floridians!
In 2006, I started my own interior design and staging company, and at the same time, earned my real estate license. Much of my design and staging work came through referrals from local Realtors, and I enjoyed partnering with them on projects. In addition, I loved helping my design clients “love where you live” by redesigning their spaces with new furniture, window treatments and accessories. In 2019, the desire to start a new career in real estate became stronger and I knew I could continue assisting clients to “love where you live” in a different way. I partnered with a mentor and business associate to form The Winters Whitaker Group and my new career aspiration was born.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a new career is always challenging. There is so much to learn, so I immersed myself in professional classes and “shadowed” my associate as much as possible. We placed our license with a luxury brokerage, and then the brokerage was sold to Premier Sotheby’s International Realty a few months later. It is never easy to change brokerages in this business, but becoming a part of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty brand has been a wonderful experience! We have the support of a parent company that is synonymous with luxury real estate and a local Broker who is an outstanding educator, coach and manager.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
My philosophy centers on always doing what is best for my clients. My goal is to develop long-term client relationships through exceptional communications and unending attention to detail. I have the ability to “see” the possibilities in a home due to my extensive knowledge of interior design. These qualities have allowed me to succeed in both the interior design and real estate arenas.
