Hidden Gems: Meet Laquela Ruth of PerfectBlendSkincare

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laquela Ruth.

Hi Laquela, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started PerfectBlendSkincare in 2021 after the passing of my late father Darryl. My mom (Linda) encouraged me to find something therapeutic and creative for me to get through the tough times. Remember, no matter what you’re facing or going through, better days are ahead.

I started this business with less than $100 and turned it into something beautiful. I hope to help those who feel discouraged about how their skin look. No matter if you have mild acne or severe acne, dry skin, or eczema we have products for you. Even if you don’t have skincare problems and you just want to smell good or have nice smooth skin, again we have the products for you.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road but it hasn’t been too bumpy along the way. The only struggle I really faced is not being a familiar face in the community.

I’m from Harlem, FL so living in Orlando and not knowing/having many people to support my business, in the beginning, was hard. But once I started putting myself out there on social media and doing local vendor markets, it became a smooth road.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about PerfectBlendSkincare?
I sell skin care and bath care products. I’m known for being friendly, outgoing, and down-to-earth. What sets me apart from others is that all my products are nontoxic, natural, and organic ingredients. All products are handmade by me.

What I’m most proud of brand-wise is having products that my customers love. If I can put a smile on my customer’s face, from them loving my products then I know I’m doing a good job. I want readers to know that my brand helps restore confidence to those who feel discouraged about their skin.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
In the next 5-10 years, I hope to expand my business into a storefront/beauty bar, I also hope to see my products in a chain of stores and boutiques.
