Hidden Gems: Meet Lymari Rentas of IVenture Health

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lymari Rentas

Hi Lymari, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, my name is Lymari Rentas, and I’ve been a nurse for more than 20 years. I studied nursing in PR, in the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico in Ponce, and graduated in 2001. After working in Puerto Rico as an emergency room nurse, I came to Florida in 2007 looking for a new beginning for my family. I lived in Miami area for 4 years and then decided to move to the Orlando area. I worked on different hospitals, always night shift until 3 years ago that I decide to change the hospital setting for something less rough. I’m working now part time with chronic condition kids in a medical day care. I love being a nurse and take care of others, but I also need to take care of me and my family too. I have a son with Down Syndrome, and I want to have more time to be with him.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s never been a smooth road, but I always do my best to keep going and don’t let anything broke me or get me out of my ( ). At the beginning was fine but then my husband needed to stop working for medical problems and I had to get 2 jobs to covers all the home expenses, and to this day I still have 2 jobs.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
After thinking a lot that I need to get more time for me and my family, I decide to start my own IV Therapy business this year. The name of my business is IVenture Health, and I offer a mobile service of IV Therapy and Ionic Detox. My IVs are a combination of vitamins, amino acids and electrolytes that can help the patients with different symptoms or/and chronic disease to feel better and live a healthy and better life. I continue educating and certifying myself in different courses so I can offer more services to my clients and better their lives. It’s always hard to start a new job, but it’s harder to start your own business. At least this one let me still be a nurse and continue taking care of people with chronic conditions and others that just want to keep being healthy. I’m a nurse at heart and this is what I love to do.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I was not lucky to find a mentor in my journey, but the MD course instructor that gave me my certification is always available to answer any questions I have regarding the process and application. I also have a medical director that is a phone call away if I have any extra questions.
