Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Rosario.
Hi Michael, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
About six years ago, a colleague of mine that was modeling all over the world I should give modeling a chance because she saw something. I think she asked what do I need to do to get started. She walked through the steps, and I got started right away. I took a shot and drove down to Miami with what I had and went to the open calls of the biggest agencies at the time. As I stood there and watched the males go up to the casting agent and get judged, I started to get nervous. As I went up to the directors, they all didn’t flat out say no. They all showed interest and told me what I needed to work on. I took the advice, came back to Orlando and started working on my body and pictures. After a couple of months, I found an agency in Orlando and went to their open call. Two weeks later, after they saw me, they offered me my first contract. From there on out, I’ve been working throughout Florida with different agencies. I have learned so much and have met so many people. I currently still do some modeling, but now I’m focusing on building my businesses and building a sustainable foundation.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not. In this industry, you will get more rejection than acceptance. You will continue to be spoken to like a replaceable person. You will get your motivation shot down. The most important thing is having tuff skin and understanding that there are characters in this industry. You have to focus on being you and keep pushing forward.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about R & R marketing and Team RM?
Modeling and fashion will always be something I love doing, but it is not sustainable. My love is entirely in the entertainment industry. Besides modeling, I have always worked in the music industry due to my father once being a very known artist in Puerto Rico. I grew up going on tours, working in studios, photoshoots, video shoots etc.. With that being said, I’ve worked recently with many artists in the Latin music industry and have worked for IHeart Media for some time. With my experience, I have created my own artist management company named Team RM. We have two signed artists and I hope to guide them into making it in the industry. The other company I own is a marketing Company named R & R Marketing. We work with local small businesses on running their Social media, ads, tik toks, and events for them. We currently have two clients, and we plan to look for more businesses that we can help gain more customers through marketing. What sets me apart is my determination. I never stop looking for the next opportunity and always are willing to help others throughout my journey. I stand strongly by the saying, “if you work in something you love, you will never work a day in your life.” My goal is to enjoy my work, live life, and take care of my family.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was definitely an active kid. I never liked playing video games, and to this day, I don’t play games or watch too much tv. I was always outside riding bikes, shooting BB guns, playing basketball, and getting hurt in some type of way. I was liked being outside, being active or playing a sport. I’ve been apart of so many sports teams. I’ve played baseball for five years, basketball for one year, I have a black belt in karate, and I’ve boxed for eight years. Besides sports, I’ve always been into music. I used to DJ house parties and had an interest in making music. Personality-wise, I always was chill and in my zone unless I was with my friends. I was always a pretty serious kid, and to this day I’m still pretty serious. I usually don’t open up until I get to know you a little better. Adulting is cool and all, but my childhood was the best time.
