Today we’d like to introduce you to Noel Bass.
Hi Noel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Absolutely. I’ve always been fascinated by computers and technology. Growing up, I spent more than a little time gaming and taking things apart just to figure out how they worked. But my journey took a few big turns along the way.
In college, two major things happened that really changed the course of my life. First, I went from being a militant atheist to becoming a Christian, a conversion that completely reshaped how I saw the world and my purpose in it. Second, I attended the University of Central Florida, where I earned my BSBA in Marketing. That combination of faith and business set the stage for everything that would follow.
I got plugged into East Coast Believers Church, where I met my wife, Janelle. We’ve now been married for over a decade, have five wonderful children whom we homeschool, and we end each day together with Bible stories and devotionals as a family. I served as the lead children’s minister at our church for about 12 years before stepping down to focus on outreach, helping families in need and sharing the love of Christ in practical ways.
BastionTech actually began in a very organic way. After a church conference one year, a lady approached me and asked if I designed websites since I seemed so techy. I said yes, even though, truthfully, I had never built one professionally before. I learned as I went, and that first project turned out to be a huge success, driving real customer engagement and sales for her business.
That experience lit a fire in me. I realized how much I loved helping small businesses succeed online. As I built more sites, I kept learning new things, from spam protection to SEO markup, and I’d quietly go back and improve past clients’ sites just because I wanted to see them do better. Eventually, I dove deep into SEO and discovered it was the missing piece that turned a good website into a thriving business asset.
When I started applying SEO strategies to my clients’ sites, they began seeing incredible growth within just a few months. At first I thought it was a coincidence, but when it kept happening, I knew I was onto something. That’s when I repositioned BastionTech to focus not just on web design but on helping small businesses, especially in the health and wellness space, grow through traffic, leads, and real results.
Today, I’m grateful to serve amazing clients who trust me to help them build their presence, connect with their audience, and grow sustainably. BastionTech is really about more than technology; it’s about building something solid that helps others flourish.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Overall, I’d say it has been a pretty smooth road, but not without its humbling moments. Right after college, I spent several years doing cold-call sales. I always believed in the products I was selling, but at the time I wasn’t very driven by money or external success. I think part of me was still figuring out what I wanted my life to look like and what kind of man I wanted to be.
As our family started growing, that changed. Having several children lit a fire in me. Suddenly, there were little faces looking up at me who depended on me to provide and lead. I often joke that having more kids forced me to man up, but it’s true. It pushed me to get creative, to work harder, and to take responsibility for turning my skills into something that could truly support my family.
That shift in mindset changed everything. Once my motivation became about service, first to my family and then to my clients, the work stopped feeling like work. It became something meaningful. Looking back, I can see how those earlier struggles built the foundation for what BastionTech is today.
We’ve been impressed with BastionTech LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
BastionTech is a web design and digital marketing company that helps small businesses grow online through clean, fast, and effective websites paired with real SEO strategy. We specialize in helping service-based businesses, especially in the health and wellness space, attract the right customers through strong online visibility, local SEO, and intentional design.
What sets BastionTech apart is that we do not just build websites; we build long-term assets for our clients. A lot of web designers focus on aesthetics, but we focus on results. Every site we create is optimized for performance, search ranking, and conversion from day one. I love helping clients see their website go from something static to something that actually drives leads, phone calls, and sales.
Brand wise, I am most proud of the integrity behind what we do. Many of my clients come to me after being disappointed by big marketing firms or quick-fix SEO packages that did not deliver. BastionTech was built to be the opposite of that experience. We take a personal, relational approach and treat each business as if it were our own. When a client wins, I win.
The name “Bastion” has a double meaning for me. On one hand, it represents a stronghold, a place of defense, which fits perfectly with how I view our work in helping small businesses stand strong in the digital world. On the other hand, it is also a creative play on my last name, Bass. It felt like the perfect blend of personal identity and professional purpose.
I want readers to know that BastionTech is more than a tech company. It is about serving people, strengthening small businesses, and helping them build a strong foundation that protects, represents, and grows with them.
What makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is protecting the little guy and helping people who truly need it. That has always been at the core of who I am, whether it is through my business, ministry, or just everyday life. I love seeing someone succeed after being overlooked or discouraged, and knowing I played even a small part in helping them get there.
My wife and kids also bring me an incredible amount of joy. They are the reason I work hard and the reason I stay grounded. Our family life is full of trials as well as giggles, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Most of all, I am grateful for my Jesus. He has been so kind and faithful to me, even in the moments when I did not deserve it. Everything good in my life flows from His mercy and grace, and I try to let that gratitude guide how I live and how I treat others.
