Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Saint Louis.
Hi Patricia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m a registered nurse, after Covid 19 I wanted do something different outside of nursing. I stumbled across YouTube videos about becoming a licensed health insurance agent after more research I realized that I can educate Seniors on their Medicare options. Since I was already use to working with that population in nursing I decided to get my health insurance license in 2020. I continued to work as a traveling nurse to earn more money to open up my own agency and office, I saved up enough for my down payment to open my office about 3 years ago.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Getting your name out to the community and marketing isn’t the easiest thing to do. You have to show up every day and be consistent. I find myself changing my strategy all the time to reach my goals. Working for yourself is difficult than working for a call center. A call center does on all the marketing for you and provides all your leads. But when you work for yourself all that responsibility is on you.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a one stop shop for Seniors when it comes to Medicare. We help them first understand the process and rules of Medicare then we help them choose the best path/ Medicare plan for their individual needs. We also help those under the age of 65 with Health Insurance as well. What set us from the rest is that we value personalized healthcare, we don’t recommend everyone the same plan, we help our clients choose what’s best for them, we work for out clients not the insurance companies.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
We want to see our agency be out in the community as often as we can, we want to be able to give back as much as we can. Right now we work with other organizations to give out free fruits and vegetables to Seniors in need, We would like to do more for our community and offer more events that benefits the community. We want to hire more staff so we can help more people in our community
