Hidden Gems: Meet Priscilla Pagan of Coins & Currency of Orlando

Today we’d like to introduce you to Priscilla Pagan.

Hi Priscilla, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Back in the early 2000s, I stumbled into the world of coins. What began as something small turned into a full-blown career. In 2014, there was an opportunity to purchase Coins & Currency of Orlando, a well-established coin shop that had been around for a while. I remember the mix of excitement and nerves as I took that leap. I could see the potential in the business, but I also knew it came with its own set of challenges.
The first few years were a whirlwind. I had to figure out how to make the shop my own. It was not always easy, but it was how I learned! Slowly but surely, I started to see the hard work pay off.
Now, looking back, I cannot help but smile. Coins & Currency of Orlando has become more than just a shop; it is a community. I have built relationships with my customers, many of whom have become friends, people I genuinely look forward to seeing. It feels like a family, sharing stories, laughter, and, of course, our love for coins and precious metals!
Today, I am proud of what my team and I have created. As I think about the future, I am filled with gratitude for this journey and excited for what is still to come.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road hasn’t always been easy. The coin business definitely has its fair share of ups and downs, and those market fluctuations can really weigh on you. I often tell people that while our physical work isn’t too demanding, the mental side of it can be a lot to handle. Keeping up with prices and trends feels like a never-ending challenge, especially with how unpredictable things have been lately.
