Hidden Gems: Meet Ronna Larsen of Dreams and Wishes Travel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronna Larsen.

Hi Ronna, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My first trip to Disney was when I was three years old and I have been in love ever since. Every time I walk down Main Street, I feel like I am home! The excitement begins as I walk under the train station at Magic Kingdom and hear the old Ragtime tunes, and continues with the sweet smell of the Confectionary and the first sight of Cinderella’s Castle. It is pure bliss and never grows old.

Because of my love of Disney, I became the go-to person for friends and family planning trips. Not only to the parks but on cruises and Disney’s other destinations in Vero Beach, Hilton Head, and Hawaii. I was encouraged to start a blog to share my experiences and tips with others and after doing that for a few years, I was approached by an owner of a travel agency that specialized in Disney destinations to come on board as a consultant.

Flash forward 5 years and after much encouragement from friends, I decided to start my own agency. I haven’t looked back since. I love that I can help others plan magical trips, and while Disney is still my first love, I have expanded my business over time to include other destinations around the world.

While I was quickly able to start planning trips for friends and family, it took a while to get business from outside my personal network. Thanks mostly to referrals, I have been able to grow my business year after year.

We’ve been impressed with Dreams and Wishes Travel, Inc., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have stayed or visited all of the on-site hotels and have dined at most of the restaurants. In addition, I have been on several Disney cruises and have traveled to Disneyland and Disney’s Hawaiian resort and Spa, Aulani.

Since I’ve always enjoyed keeping up with what’s new and exciting in many travel destinations, especially Disney, I became the person my friends and family would call to help plan their trips. Today, I work one-on-one with clients who are looking for cherished travel memories that last a lifetime. I like to add a personal touch to each vacation.

That’s something that can’t be done by booking online.

We all have different ways of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
When clients come back again and again and trust me with planning their vacations, I know I’m doing something right.
