Hi Sara, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I started planning Disney destinations and Universal Studios vacations as a hobby when my youngest was born. Daycare costs were higher than what I earned as a public school teacher, and it was a fun way to pass the time. Little did I know that there was a huge need for busy families to place their trust in someone to guide them to have the most memorable and magical time ever, and I was able to turn my hobby into a full-time career! Fast-forward 10 years later, my Travel Agency has earned the distinction of being an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner and a U-Preferred Agency with our main suppliers. I lead a team of 14 Travel Advisors who represent the Dreaming of the Mouse brand, and we strive to make every day magical for our clients.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like every other travel agency, we faced incredible hardship and adversity during the Covid-pandemic, and being New York based, it was over a full year before our NY clients could even easily travel by airplane to the destinations we offer. We only earn a living when a client books and takes a trip, and we spent 2+ years canceling and rescheduling vacations with very little income coming in. It’s hard to explain what it’s like to lose everything overnight, at no fault of your own, especially when the entire globe suffers a major health crisis. It’s not exactly the right tone to focus on losing business when people were losing so much more, so we did our best to stay positive and focus on “Disney dreaming” with our client base to ensure we were still relevant when we could put the pandemic behind us. We are now experts at not only booking and planning the perfect vacation package or cruise, but we’re also incredibly skilled and knowledgeable with cancelling and rescheduling vacations. It was difficult, but we pushed through with faith, trust, and pixie dust!

From start to finish, we guide our clients to ensure they are as prepared as possible for their vacation; because the memories collected during this trip will last a lifetime! Our specialty is Disney World, as this destination requires the most pre-planning to have a great time. Clients who book their vacations through Dreaming of the Mouse enjoy our highly-regarded VIP Planning Services – specific to the type of vacation booked, they include a carefully-curated planning timeline, digital resources and guides, and the expert guidance and assistance of one sole point of contact to consult with.
Any big plans?
A majority of Dreaming of the Mouse’s clients become repeat customers, and we enjoy fostering these long-term relationships. Our intention is to continue cultivating these connections while consistently updating our planning timelines, resources, and digital guides to ensure that they are up-to-date for our clients. The preferences for communication and content consumption are always changing, and we are exploring innovative approaches to provide material that is easier to understand for our clients. Our ultimate goal is to simplify and make the vacation planning process enjoyable for our clients, so they can look forward to their trip instead of feeling overwhelmed by the planning.

- Our more highly-demanded Travel Advisors may require a nominal Vacation Consultation fee of $25 to get started – this retains the services of your Travel Advisor while they help you choose the perfect vacation package or cruise for you!
- Consultation rates are also available for clients who are looking for small-scale planning (1 or 2 day visits) or clients who want our full service but did not book their vacation through Dreaming of the Mouse.
