Hidden Gems: Meet Stacy Staggs of Simply Staggs Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy Staggs.

Hi Stacy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started day of coordinating and event planning long before I knew it was a job. For as long as I can remember, I was the one nailing down all the details for birthdays and holiday parties. Whenever I was invited to events/weddings and saw there was a need or felt the timeline slipping, I jumped in to assist or in many cases take control of the situation. Before I knew it, I began seeking out opportunities to help couples on their most special day! Simply Staggs Events became official in 2019, where my very first wedding was one of the most romantic and intimate beach weddings I have ever been a part of. That day I can honestly tell you I had never worked harder in my life, I broke a record on my apple watch and I saved the day more than once. While I was driving home completely exhausted, I knew at that moment I had found my calling. A few professional weddings under my belt and BAM a world pandemic hits. I didn’t think a new business like mine would make it through, especially once the cancellations started coming through. However, I kept my positive attitude, stayed active on social media, kept in touch with my fellow vendors and reached out to local venues letting them know I was available if they needed extra planners to help with social distancing or coming up with creative ways to still proceed with weddings. After a few long months, a light began to emerge and wedding planning was back on! With all of the postponements, 2021 has been a very busy year and I am happy to say Simply Staggs Events is going to be helping couples on their big day for many years to come!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It can be challenging when starting any business but especially during a pandemic. I had to learn at the same time as my couples how to navigate these unprecedented times. No matter what struggles or obstacles come towards me, I always try and keep the mindset that this business is about love and helping make sure that the two people getting married have their most perfect day.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a day of coordinator and event planner in the greater Orlando area (although I will travel anywhere for LOVE). I specialize in day of coordinating but I also offer partial planning packages and offer my planning services for private events such as engagement and anniversary parties. I am extremely devoted to my couples and offer a very personal experience from the moment you decide to book your wedding with me. My attention to detail and time management skills set me apart from others in this field. If you choose to hire me you should know that no task is too small. At past weddings, I have tended bar, served the buffet, entertained babies and passed loved notes between the sweethearts all while balancing my other duties and making sure my couples say “I DO” right on time. I am your advocate and will make sure that your wants and dreams come true on your big day.

How do you define success?
My definition of success has changed many times over the years. I think right now the best way I define success is – Find what sets your soul on fire, believe in yourself and even if they are small steps, keep moving forward. It can be so easy nowadays to be sidetracked by others perceived success but they are on a different path than the one you are traveling and it is so important to remember that.
