Hi Taylor, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
From a young age, I’ve felt a deep connection to animals. Growing up surrounded by pets, especially my Labrador Retriever, Sadie, helped shape my love for them. At 12, I began volunteering to rehabilitate wildlife, which sparked an even greater curiosity and appreciation for animals of all kinds. I found so much joy in helping my neighbors and family care for their pets, which strengthened my commitment to animal care. In high school, I continued working with animals and even started a marine science club to share my enthusiasm with others. After graduating, I was still exploring my options, but working at a pet hotel that summer made it clear to me that a career in pet care was exactly what I wanted. That realization inspired me to start my own pet care business, where I’m honored to provide care for a wide range of wonderful animals.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road definitely hasn’t been easy. Starting my business involved a lot of trial and error. One of the biggest challenges was finding the right software to manage everything smoothly for my clients; I tried several options before landing on the one that felt right and truly served both me and my clients well. Building up my marketing and brand was another journey in itself, as I worked to find the best way to represent my mission. At first, all the setup felt like a lot to handle, and I had my moments of doubt. But with time, things slowly came together, and looking back, I feel so grateful for the process. Every struggle and lesson along the way has made the business what it is today, and I couldn’t be more thankful.

Pet parents are looking for truly individualized care that considers their pets’ unique needs, and new technology—like pet-tracking apps and virtual check-ins—is helping keep families close, even when they’re apart. There’s also a wonderful shift toward eco-friendly practices and holistic wellness, with people seeking natural products and gentle, sustainable options for their pets. At Tayl’s Pet Care, I’m excited to grow alongside these changes and keep finding ways to offer the thoughtful, loving care pets and their families deserve.
