Hi Terrell, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Originally I wasn’t a huge fan of going shopping and spending big money on name brand clothing items. So I thought to myself why not just make your own brand to wear! After months of contemplating whether I should do it or not, I finally took a leap of faith and produced my own company and brand. Smak stands for Success Making A Komeback (in which the “k” stands for the thousands of years black-owned companies have been overlooked and the hardships black-owned companies go through. I wanted to have something that stuck out and stuck with people. Just about every day, you’re using the word “smack”, and that’ll make you think about my company through instant conversation. My plan is to ultimately be a household name that is simple, stylish and affordable to everyone.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The start has been rough just like all businesses in some sort of fashion. The normal things such as Supplied material, start-up cash, marketing as well have been some challenges due to starting in midst of Covid. After the first couple of months, we’ve been able to knock off some of those challenges to help us run a lot smoother.

We specialize in affordable, comfortable clothing that majority of American kids and adults can feel confident about what they’re wearing.
