Hidden Gems: Meet Thomas Way, II of Marrow Couture, Inc.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Thomas Way, II.

Hi Thomas, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Our story of origin was developed over a few years. My mother and I were very frustrated with the surface-level history related to African Americans. It was as if our story began with slavery and ended with Martin Luther King, Jr. A few other Blacks would be sprinkled in here and there during Black History Month. However, it was never enough to have a lasting impact on today’s culture. Therefore, we decided to take action. My mother, Phyllis Way, who is our founder, felt as though our ancestors had given her an assignment. This assignment was to create a premium clothing and apparel company dedicated to sharing the history of African Americans that is either untold or told incorrectly.

African American history is rich and diverse, extending far beyond the period of slavery, and our mission is to reflect on and take pride in our journey. Despite the challenges of enslavement, we have shown incredible resilience and strength. We must cherish our heritage and share the stories of our ancestors, whose legacy lives on through our memories. Marrow Couture aspires to keep their spirit alive. Learning about their accomplishments is a source of inspiration and pride. We are here to celebrate our history, honor our perseverance, and inspire future generations with the determination that has shaped our communities.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Our biggest challenge has been finding affordable vendors in America that offer the quality of clothing. The current tariffs have not helped things. However, we are moving forward with local vendors in the Orlando area.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Marrow Couture, Inc.?
