Hi Tia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My love of a Disney and my extreme planning of every detail of my personal vacations is how I got started being a travel agent. I remember someone saying your so good at planning vacations you can get paid for this… and that’s when I looked into being a travel agent. I Worked under other agencies when I first started then a few years ago, I branched out and started my own travel agency Dreamy Vacations LLC. I specialize in making all of my client’s vacation dreams come true and giving everyone VIP service. I book a lot of Disney Universal and SeaWorld packages but I also book cruise packages and all-inclusive vacations.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think my journey has been pretty smooth. I just feel that being a travel agent takes a lot of research and a lot of time for me to personally get knowledge of so many different destinations to be able to provide adequate service to my clients. Many people don’t realize that travel agents pretty much work for free for you and that we don’t get until after your travel. A lot of people have the misconception that it cost extra to book with a travel agent but in reality sometimes we can even save you money because we know about extra discounts and different ways to book a vacation.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Dreamy Vacations LLC?
I think that would set aside is the fact that we offer first-class service say give all of my clients my personal cell phone number so they can contact me at any hour if they have any trouble or any questions about their vacations I try to be completely hands-on with my clients to make them have the best possible experiences. I don’t charge any fees and we help do custom planning itineraries that are specific to the client’s needs and family dynamics.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I feel that I have learned how to be attentive and to really pay attention to what someone needs as far as their vacation style. Not everyone vacations the same way and not everyone has the same family situations so I always ask a little bit of personal information about my clients so that I can plan something that they can enjoy based on the types of activities they like to do or how much downtime they enjoy.
