Today we’d like to introduce you to Vince Martin.
Hi Vince, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born and raised in the Bahamas, came to Orlando at the age of 8-years old. There I faced many challenges, I didn’t speak proper English so buying in into the American culture was pretty tough. Starting playing football at the age of 10-years old and fell in love with it. Didn’t know it would change my life the way it did, special thanks to PKZ for allowing me to see the things that they opened my eyes to at a young age. From the banking and credit meetings all the way to the multiple college tours we took. Those things help prepare me for college and the real world that was ahead of me, I was blessed to get a full scholarship to play football in New Mexico. After attending for 2-years I was blessed with another opportunity to go play football at Southern Illinois University (SIU). Thanks to a great friend/brother Whitney Simon. I finished up football, and graduated college. THE FIRST IN MY FAMILY TO DO SO! After graduation, I had to put some things together on what I really wanted. I knew I was done with football, so I worked for 3-years after college and became a full time entrepreneur. I figured out the importance of Financial leadership and didn’t look back since. I now own an online suit business “TheV12Collection By Vince Martin” where I sell high end quality suits.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely wasn’t a smooth road, my parents didn’t speak much English so I had to pretty much learn stuff on my own. It’s really hard for the Haitian Creole community, we lived in a pretty rough neighborhood (parromore). I remember lights being off etc.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
