Today we’d like to introduce you to Chaszmeque Rachel.
Hi Chaszmeque, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I began my journey a couple of years ago in a field of flowers. I honestly just wanted to use photography as an outlet at first. I love nature, and I felt that taking pictures of what I would see in the world would allow for me to have a reminder of just how awesome and beautiful the rest of the world really is.
Eventually, I was asked to take some graduation portraits for a friend. I was extremely nervous and scared at first. Up until that point, I had only taken pictures of subjects that were pretty stationary and couldn’t talk. I took about a week to prepare, watching videos and reading every article/book I could find on the “rules” of photography. They did help me considerably, and it allowed me to navigate through that first session. Since then, I’ve done countless sessions ranging from a plethora of styles, and it still feels like it’s my first time pressing that shutter button. I still get excited when a client puts their trust in me to bring their vision to life. I believe it’s imperative that every artist take time to continue learning and honing their craft.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been a smooth road, and there have definitely been some struggles. Just like many other photographers, I’ve had to experience the learning curves that are coupled with proper lighting techniques, adherence to composition, and definitely posing. I believe the latter is one that every photographer will struggle with from time to time.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
That I’m on the path to enter into the medical field. My aim is to become a surgeon once I finish Medical School.
