Hi Aliyah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Before the idea of starting my own business, I was the little girl sitting in the middle of the floor, splashing nail polish everywhere from painting and creating my own nails. That was when I knew this was something that was going to be a part of my life for a very long time. Born and raised in Tallahassee, FL, graduating college from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, and putting myself through nail school, I have always been your small-town average girl with big dreams and ambition out of this world. Consistently, I let God lead and direct my life because with Him, ALL things are possible.
Frustrated with going from nail shop to nail shop and never getting what I wanted, I realized it was time to take my dreams to the next level. In 2024, I made the life-changing decision to leave my full-time job and fully step into my purpose as a licensed nail technician and full-time business owner. Since then, I’ve been able to pour all of my energy into creating a personalized and professional experience through my private studio, LiyahsNailRoom.
I pride myself in offering unbeatable customer service by allowing clients to receive exactly what they ask for at affordable prices in a relaxing, one-on-one environment. Even more rewarding, I get the opportunity to connect and build relationships with amazing people—some of whom have now grown into great friendships.
What started off as a fun, yet messy, hobby for a little 9-year-old girl has grown significantly in both clientele and reputation. And this is just the beginning.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting and running a business, especially in the beauty industry, comes with its own set of challenges. One of my biggest struggles was balancing my full-time job while trying to grow my nail business on the side. I was exhausted mentally and physically – doing nails after a long day at work can be tiring most days. In 2024, I took a leap of faith and left that full-time job to pursue being a full-time nail technician and business owner — and while it was scary, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
There were also financial obstacles. Putting myself through nail school, investing in quality products, setting up a professional studio space, and marketing my services all required resources I didn’t always have. But I learned how to budget smartly, reinvest back into my business, and trust that hard work would pay off.
Another struggle has been battling self-doubt — wondering if I was good enough, if I was making the right move, or if people would support me. But with prayer, faith, and the constant support of my amazing clients and community, I kept going.
Every setback taught me something. Every challenge made me stronger. And now, I’m walking in purpose, doing what I love, and creating a space where others feel seen, cared for, and confident.

I specialize in high-quality, detailed nail services including acrylic enhancements, Gel-X, natural manicures, custom press-on sets, and one-on-one group nail classes, and travel services. I intentionally operate in a private studio setting so that every appointment feels intimate, relaxing, and fully focused on the client. It’s not just about nails — it’s about building trust, boosting confidence, and creating a moment of peace in someone’s day.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes my heart full is knowing that God loves me so much that He didn’t just bless me with a purpose — He surrounded me with a community to walk alongside me. He placed family, friends, clients, and supporters in my life who encourage me, uplift me, and love me without judgment. It’s a reminder of His grace and intentionality. On the days when I’ve felt weary or uncertain, it was their prayers, words, and presence that carried me — and I know that was God working through them. I am truly grateful, because without that God-given community, the tough seasons would’ve felt impossible. But through it all, He’s been faithful.
