Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Cannizzo.
Hi Alyssa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
As a child, I realized how important it was to throw grand events. Ones that not necessarily had to happen, but that you wanted to happen. In 5th grade, at the age of 10, I planned our class Christmas party by myself. Our teacher wanted to watch a movie and I wasn’t having it. I spent hours cutting out snowflakes, baking, and building all kinds of props.
Needless to say, not only did we have the best Christmas party that year, but I was hooked when it came to throwing the best parties. From there, I got my first job when I was 14 with Pretty Party Ponies in Apopka, FL. They offered face painting and pony rides that came to your house for your child’s birthday. Working with children and at these parties helped me learn a lot about patience, customer service, and punctuality. I stayed there until I was 19, and decided I was ready to venture out on my own.
From 2012 until 2017, I offered an array of services from party planning, face painting, birthday decor & more. In 2017, however, I realized I was more interested in larger events and really started to focus on weddings. That’s when the real fun began. Cannizzo Events was my first official company name.
We offered wedding & event planning all over the state of Florida, going as far north as Panama City Beach and as far south as the Florida Keys. We learned a lot about the industry and what it takes to last in this business. Many planners offer their services but have another full-time job as well.
There is nothing wrong with that, except when you are planning your most important day you need things done in a timely manner. When I decided wedding planning was my full-time mission, the flood gates opened. We signed on with 6 venues as their set coordinating team and hired 2 additional wedding planners.
Mid-2021, we decided it was time for an upgrade. We had been in business for long enough to understand our ideal client, what they wanted and what was most important to them. When we chose to rebrand we wanted to select a name that fit us and who we love to represent. On January 1st, 2022 WILD WEDDINGS was born.
Our mission is to provide our couples with a unique experience that they will never want to forget, put adventure over tradition, and embrace crazy ideas. We now specialize in only weddings and offer an array of services, so you can have a one-stop wedding shop experience.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If I told you it was a smooth road, I would be lying.
Anyone who has built anything ever has had their own struggles and we are no different. We had to learn the right and wrong way to conduct a rehearsal, organize files and make sure all of our couples received the 5-star service they know to expect when booking with us.
So no, it hasn’t been smooth, but it has definitely been worth it.
We’ve been impressed with Wild Weddings, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I have had so many mentors and people help me throughout my career so far.
I say, so far, because I know there will be many more that I am already so excited to meet. Elaine with Bridlewood Ranch, Denise with Southern Style Floral Design, Robert with Robert McClory Photography, Andrew with Orlando Area Luxury Homes is just a few who have really impacted my career.
And of course, I cannot forget my husband, Ryan, who always backs my crazy ideas and supported me when deciding to become a full-time wedding planner.
