Inspiring Conversations with Anna Tanzilla of Camaraderie Foundation

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Tanzilla.

Anna joined the Camaraderie Foundation in January 2015. Anna has more than 20 years of experience as a leader and manager in the fields of human services and employee benefits consulting. She is a proven project manager and change agent. Anna proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years as a Personnel Officer then as a civil service employee. She has her Master’s in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan and a Masters in Science of Social Work from the University of Louisville. Anna believes strongly in the power of volunteering in the community and has volunteered with such organizations as the YMCA Mentoring Program, Special Olympics, Red Cross, United Way, Junior Achievement, and Habitat for Humanity.

Anna is currently serving on several committees and boards to include Mission United, Mayor Dyers Veterans Advisory Council, and Veterans Entrepreneurship Initiative.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I feel I have been called to the various path my life has taken. The struggles have made me who I am today.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Camaraderie Foundation?
Camaraderie Foundation’s mission is to provide healing for the “invisible wounds of war” through counseling, emotional and spiritual support for all branches of Post-9/11 Veterans, Service Members and their families.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love the variety. This city is very military-friendly and open.
