Hi Ashley, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I own a faith based domestic violence and family law firm. I practice this area of law because God placed it on my heart. I did not want to practice family law, but this is the area God told me I needed to practice. I opened my law firm during the virus and I truly love what I do.
Our firm does not push divorce on anyone. We ask if marriage counseling is an option for you and we will recommend some amazing Christian marriage counselors for you. We work with counselors for other areas as well such as trauma, domestic violence, PTSD, anxiety, grief, for your children, abuse. We are very big on mental health at our firm and we want to get you and your family the help they need.
We offer payment plans, and we try very hard to be affordable for most Americans. We do not want you to not be able to receive legal help because of how expensive the costs can be.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Practicing family law can very difficult. Many family law attorneys either leave the practice of law or they get out of practicing family law. Most attorneys I know personally say they would never practice family law. It is an area of law that you are getting people at such a vulnerable time in their lives. I usually see you at one of the most difficult times in your life and that is something I take very seriously. There are many family law attorneys out there that should not practice family law. I have seen them hurt their clients and their client’s children over and over. These attorneys give the family law attorneys who really are trying to help people a bad reputation. I tell people in consultations to be very aware of who you hire for your case. The most expensive and most experienced family law attorney does not mean they are the best. When you have someone who is not represented, it can be very difficult sometimes, because they won’t answer your e-mails, texts, calls. Attorneys are like that as well. There are many difficult times in this area of law, but I love what I do, and we need attorneys who care.
As you know, we’re big fans of Baillargeon Law Firm. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I do not know if this sets us apart but we pray for our clients and their children. We are very big on mental health. We do not try to divorce families if we can save their marriage. We offer payment plans so people can afford the legal help they need. I want people to know that our firm, you are a person and you matter. You are not a number or a dollar sign. At our firm, when you reach out and you want to speak with your attorney, you will speak with me. We have a lot of domestic violence cases and we represent a lot of men and women going through a domestic violence marriage or relationship.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love living in Orlando. There is so much culture and history here. So much is around us. There are so many places you can travel to from here. So many places to visit and see in Florida are within two hours or less. We can be in Georgia in about three hours or in Miami in a little over three hours. You can be on the West Coast or East Coast in a few hours or less depending on where you want to go. There are so many great places to eat here and there is so much to do. I think most of us dislike the traffic and how expensive homes are. But I love this beautiful city, and I am proud to call it home.
