Hi Brandon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
First, thank you for the chance to share more of what we do with your community. I am a dog behavioral therapist and owner of Bark Busters Home Dog Training in Southwest Orlando. Bark Busters is the largest in home dog training company in the World, operating in 6 countries. As a company, we have collectively trained over 1 million dogs since 1989. My dog training journey started at 7 years old with my first dog Jazz. She was brilliant and lived to be nearly 17 years old. My experience with her is what led me to fall in love with dogs and appreciate all the joy they bring to our lives. My professional dog training journey however began with Bark Busters in 2009 when my parents and I became the owners of the Chicagoland Bark Busters franchise. We ran the territory there from 2009-2024. When my son Teddy was born, my wife Charie and I wanted to be closer to family. Charie is also a certified dog behavioral therapist and my business partner. Charie grew up in Winter Garden and went to high school here. My parents had moved to south Florida after training together in Chicago. With all of this in mind, we decided to move here and bought the Southwest Orlando territory to continue our work and passion of helping dog owners solve their dogs behavioral issues. The territory we cover spans from Oakland all the way south to Poinciana. To be more specific for your readers, we are responsible for Oakland, Winter Garden, Ocoee, Metro West, South Orange, Dr. Phillips, Windermere, Kissimmee, Hunters Creek, Celebration, Davenport and Poinciana.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There are Bark Busters territories next to us but our area in particular wasn’t being serviced until we moved here. We were starting from scratch. We relied on our relationships with local veterinarian offices as well as our reputation for our methodology. We teach dog owners about dog psychology, body language and tone of voice to create a better relationship with their dogs.

We specialize in dog behavior modification. Many dog owners come to us to solve difficult and stressful behaviors like leash reactivity, separation anxiety and barking. Our founders, Danny and Sylvia Wilson, developed the Bark Busters method in Australia after their work in the RSPCA. They saw too many wonderful dogs being relinquished to the shelter and getting stuck there for common behavioral issues, making them susceptible to euthanasia. Danny and Sylvia realized that dog owners were lacking the proper education and resources to prevent this from happening and sprung into action.
