Today we’d like to introduce you to Brinae Lott.
Hi Brinae, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I started Brins Baking Boutique as an online bakery in October 2021. It was during the pandemic, and at the time, I was working full-time with a corporate company. My youngest child became sick with Covid, and I needed to quarantine with him. Being a full-time mom and a full-time corporate employee became a battle, so the bakery’s inception was to allow me a creative outlet that I could do while still being a fully present mom. Little did I know that it would take me into a complete career change. Within 7 months of launching the bakery online, I quit my full-time job and began operating the bakery full-time at markets and events. In February 2023, our Death By Chocolate cake became an award-winning flavor, and in May of 2023, the mobile bakery truck was launched. We are currently exploring other options for expansion.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Brinae’s journey was not without its challenges. The first year of vending was a test of her perseverance, setting up every weekend at local farmers markets and events, braving the Florida heat and storms. But these challenges, she believes, were the greatest lessons in life. They taught her how to prepare for the unexpected, a valuable insight that she carries with her in her entrepreneurial journey.
As you know, we’re big fans of Brins Baking Boutique. What can you tell our readers who might need to be more familiar with the brand?
Brins Baking Boutique is not just about the delicious Small Batch, Gourmet Baby Bundt Cakes. It’s about the connections, the relationships, and the community. Brinae takes pride in her beautiful connections with her Bundt Besties, who travel to different events to support her business. She’s partnered with various organizations throughout Central Florida, and has met amazing people along the way. But above all, she values client relations, understanding that it’s the heart of Brins that sets it apart.
What are your plans for the future?
Making Brins more accessible to the public is the ultimate goal. My team and I are working towards more events and festivals in the upcoming fall season and more community partnerships.
